What the day will look like
The Health Solutions Compliance Leader will be responsible for leading a team focused on understanding the federal and state healthcare regulatory and policy environment, translating legal and regulatory requirements into client solutions, and creating efficiencies in delivering compliance reporting, filing, and other requirements. This role will report directly to the Compliance, Policy, and Regulatory Leader as a part of Aon's Innovation and Integrated Solutions team (IIS). The IIS team is a group of thought leaders, subject matter experts, and solution developers, that work with internal and external clients to bring critical healthcare expertise across pharmacy, wellbeing, clinical, leave and legal disciplines to improve health, performance and wellbeing of their people and organization. This role will have responsibility for bringing new and different solutions and services to the employer marketplace and helping clients solve their regulatory and compliance challenges.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
Education:
Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school or related degree.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $245,000 to $325,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.

- Lead a team of compliance and data experts to build and deliver compliance solutions to clients, including business case development, testing, reporting, and other regulatory requirements.
- Actively monitor agency rulemaking, update leadership on change implications and participate in comments as necessary
- Partner with Policy Leader and other team members to understand and stay updated on healthcare regulations and policies at both federal and state levels.
- Serve as a thought leader in the market to showcase the company's expertise in the healthcare arena
- Collaborate with market leaders and policy leaders to develop innovative solutions for clients in response to regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency in compliance reporting, filing, and other state and federal regulatory requirements.
- Translate complex regulations into practical and effective client solutions.
- Partner with our analytics and actuarial teams and current COEs to efficiently deliver solutions to clients.
- Collaborate with go-to-market and commercialization teams to drive success of new solutions and initiatives
- Advocate for legislative and regulatory initiatives that support the practice and its clients in conjunction with the Policy team..
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Fifteen plus years of experience in the healthcare legal and regulatory environment in private practice, government, trade associations, or similar industries.
- Substantive knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, the Affordable Care Act, the Internal Revenue Code, and other key benefits and healthcare-related statutes and regulations.
- Ability to understand how the US legislative and regulatory environment impacts employers' strategy, administration, and communications around health benefits.
- Experience leading a team to develop and implement processes and strategies in an efficient manner to help clients address their compliance obligations.
- Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to explain technical legal information to non-lawyers in a practical, effective manner.
Education:
