Position Summary
As a Healthcare Facilities Project Manager, you will be responsible for advising DHS Engineering and Facility Management staff engaged in construction projects, and remodeling of state-owned buildings and property. You will also be responsible for activities related to building design, construction, and maintenance for seven major institutions (facilities) having highly complex building systems.

Salary Information
The starting pay is between $51.00 and $56.95 per hour (approximately between 106,000 and $118.400 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.
Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Capital Project Principal Management and is in pay schedule and range 81/30.

Position Summary
As a Healthcare Facilities Project Manager, you will be responsible for advising DHS Engineering and Facility Management staff engaged in construction projects, and remodeling of state-owned buildings and property. You will also be responsible for activities related to building design, construction, and maintenance for seven major institutions (facilities) having highly complex building systems.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Investigating building system deficiencies and failures and developing solutions.
- Developing and implementing the department's mechanical, civil, plumbing, or architectural remodeling projects with an emphasis on healthcare facilities (i.e., hospitals, facilities for the developmentally disabled, and secure treatment centers.)
- Preparing materials for review and approval by the State Building Commission
Salary Information

Job Details
- All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.
- For positions that allow remote working flexibility, working outside of Wisconsin or in bordering cities will not be allowed except in extremely limited circumstances due to the need to report to an office location in Wisconsin on short notice.
- Employees must have access to both a private workspace and secure high-speed internet for remote work option. Mileage reimbursement to the employee's headquarter location is not provided. Remote work flexibility will be discussed in more detail during the interview process.
- DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.
- This position requires the ability to drive a State vehicle or the ability to provide one's own transportation. In order to become authorized to drive a State vehicle, you must meet the requirements for the State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle policy, which are:
- Must have a valid driver's license;
- Must have minimum of two years licensed driving experience;
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Three or more moving violations and/or at-fault accidents in the past two years;
- Operating While Intoxicated (OWI)/Driving Under the Influence (DUI) citation within the past 12 months;
- Suspension or revocation of driver's license.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Architecture from an accredited college or university.
- Experience managing engineering and construction projects by performing duties that include developing the scope, schedule, and budget of projects.
- Experience troubleshooting building system issues and providing technical assistance to maintenance staff.
- Experience with the capital budget development process.
- Experience using Computer Aided Design and Drafting Systems (CADD) to generate project drawings.
- Experience in healthcare building or facility design and construction.
