Job Description

UAB Heersink School of Medicine - Department of Urology is recruiting for two positions:

1. The Department of Urology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a Urologist with expertise in medical and surgical management of complex kidney stone disease to join a group of skilled Urologists in a highly collaborative academic environment. The newly recruited Urologist will focus on kidney stone disease, but also participate in general urology and trauma call. The ideal candidate will have undergone fellowship training and be able to perform percutaneous nephrostolithotomy. Experience in robotics and management of benign urological diseases is a plus. The position also includes teaching and research responsibilities and requires an ability to work well others.

2. The Department of Urology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking a Pediatric Urologist with expertise in complex urologic reconstruction to join a group of skilled Pediatric Urologists in a highly collaborative academic environment. The newly recruited Urologists will focus on pediatric urology, including call at Children's of Alabama, but will also participate in the care of adult patients with congenital urologic disease. The ideal candidate will have undergone pediatric urology fellowship training and be proficient in robotic surgery. The position also includes teaching and research responsibilities and requires an ability to work well with others.

UAB Medicine is the third largest public academic medical center in the country with more than 1,900 beds and almost 18,000 employees. We are the only Level 1 Trauma Center in the state of Alabama. Required Qualifications

MD and eligible to be licensed in Alabama.

Preferred Qualifications

Successful candidates for clinical positions must have the ability to work with heavy clinical volume at UAB, the VA, Kirklin Clinic, and/or Children's of Alabama.
