Key Responsibilities:
  • The Manager, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) Oncology will join a high caliber team to execute HEOR strategies and tactics for Oncology and early pipeline assets in Oncology.
  • The individual will support Oncology HEOR Strategy Lead/TA Head to ensure project plans integrate and align with the product strategic plans from matrix teams to maintain leadership in Oncology.
  • Helps to provide updates on execution of plans to products, development of product strategic plans, liaises with other members of the team to generate innovative ideas and create alignment on strategies.
  • Supports the development of the strategic plans and studies to support patient access all within a highly matrixed, team environment
  • Communicates study findings to internal matrix and external (e.g. Payers, patient [advocacy groups] and KOLs etc.) audiences
  • Develops and executes HEOR projects including writing RFP, vendor selection, and management including budget
  • Executes HEOR research using internal data sets including writing protocols and statistical analysis plans, defending in protocol review committee, and executing research with analyst to writing final reports or publications using prospective, retrospective, modeling, PROs, meta-analyses and hybrid designs
  • Understands and translates into evidence solutions the strategic direction of the brand in partnership with the integrated brand teams focusing on the impact of evidence generation to solve complex issues
  • Partners with internal stakeholders where applicable such as Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and others, to execute on evidence needs of the asset.
  • Maintains awareness of regulatory legislation and assesses its impact on business and product development programs

Requirements :
  • PhD (preferred), MS or MPH in Health economics, Pharmacoeconomics, health services research, public health or related field.
  • 1+ years' experience after PhD, 5+ years after MS/MPH
  • Prior experience with real-world evidence generation and experience with the Oncology Therapeutic Area is required.
  • Possess both strategic and tactical skills in executing HEOR.
  • Firmly grounded in the scientific fundamentals of one or more of the core HEOR specialties (epidemiology, biostatistics, patient reported outcomes, health services research, economics, clinical practice or behavior science)
  • Capable of performing health economic projects from inception through application with minimal oversight
  • Proven track record of scientific excellence, operational excellence, and good oral and written communication skills
  • Breadth of technical skills across the following areas with proven technical expertise in at least one of the following areas: creation of economic models; conduct claim data analyses and observational research studies/analyses; development of PRO measures and analysis of PRO data; complete analyses for U.S. or International evidence dossiers
  • Ability to interact effectively in global team environment

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
