Provides effective Chemistry and Advanced Chemistry instruction to high school students. Assists pupils in need of help, prepares lessons, tests, and evaluations. Actively participates in committee work (departmental, curriculum, etc.), staff meetings, and conferences with pupils, parents, colleagues, administration and parents.
QUALIFICATIONS: CT Certification in Chemistry (031). Dual certification preferred. Effective science classroom and laboratory instruction grounded in Next Generation Science Standards and pedagogy.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This position will begin at the start of the 2025-2026 school year; Salary and benefits in accordance with negotiated agreement between the Berlin Board of Education and the Berlin Education Association, $53,201.00 BA, Step 1 - $111,279.00 Ph.D., Max.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adheres to rules, regulations and by-laws of the Board of Education;
- Complies promptly with all administrative directives issued by the superintendent of schools or any administrative subordinate within the scope of his authority;
- Maintains a strong working knowledge and application of the philosophy, courses of study, techniques and objectives applicable to the area of his specialization and assignment;
- Directs and evaluates the learning experiences of the pupil;
- Maintains order and discipline in the classroom conducive to good instruction;
- Ensures parents are accurately informed of student growth and development;
- Participates in the in-service education programs and professional growth activities, including faculty committee and system-wide committee assignments;
- Participates in assignments and activities to promote better school-community relations (parent conferences, activities, etc.)
- Performs other specific duties as assigned by the building administrator, such as lunchroom, homeroom, outside areas, halls, clerical, club and social activities;
