We are currently seeking a full-time Higher Education Project Strategist. This hybrid position is architecturally based and requires an active Architecture License. The incumbent for this position will be responsible for driving strategic engagement with multiple colleges, universities, and other educational institutions at a regional and national level.

Job Responsibilities:

Client Engagement & Relationship Management:
  • Develop and maintain strong, ongoing relationships with key university administrators, facilities managers, and other stakeholders at various educational institutions. Engage regularly with these clients to stay attuned to their evolving needs and goals for campus development.

Strategic Consulting & Planning:
  • Collaborate with university clients to assess their campus development needs, optimize their existing built environment, and create tailored strategic plans for architectural projects. Advise on how architecture can enhance the student experience, academic mission, and future growth of the institution.

Project Scoping & Opportunity Identification:
  • Lead discussions to define the scope, priorities, and budget for future architectural projects. Identify opportunities for new projects, expansions, and renovations across multiple institutions, aligning them with client goals, industry trends, and the firm's services.

Market Research & Trend Analysis:
  • Conduct research on emerging trends in higher education and architectural design. Provide clients with insights into new technologies, sustainability practices, and design solutions that can be integrated into campus development projects.

Collaboration with Internal Design & Project Teams:
  • Work closely with the firm's architects, designers, and project managers to ensure that the strategic plans align with design and implementation capabilities. Facilitate smooth communication between clients and internal teams throughout project development.

Proposal Development & Presentations:
  • Assist with the formation and delivery of thought leadership, compelling proposals and presentations to educational institutions, outlining strategic architectural plans and project concepts. Articulate the value of architectural solutions to meet client objectives and engage stakeholders.

Project Oversight & Coordination:
  • Support the firm's internal teams to ensure that projects are executed according to the agreed-upon strategy, timeline, and budget. Act as a liaison between the firm and the client throughout all project phases to ensure alignment with the institution's vision.

Requirements:
  • 15+ years of A/E/C industry experience in architectural strategy, project management, or consulting, with a strong focus on the higher education sector required. Previous experience working with educational institutions and managing multiple client relationships is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Urban Planning, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Licensed Architect in the State of New York or willingness to apply for reciprocity if licensed in another state
  • In-depth knowledge of architectural design, construction, and campus development processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex design concepts to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong project management capabilities, including budget oversight, timeline management, and risk assessment.
  • Skilled in research and analysis to identify market trends and best practices in higher education architecture.
  • Key Competencies include Strategic Vision, Relationship Building, Collaboration and Teamwork, Innovative Problem Solving and strong Leadership Acumen.
  • Proficiency with design and project management software tools.
  • Travel to firm offices and education institutions will be expected up to 50% of the time. Must have a valid driver's license.


Base Salary Information: $140,000 - $180,000

The above salary ranges represent a good faith range for incumbents of these positions. Actual offers will be based on experience, education level, and demonstrated skills and will be at the discretion of the employer.
