The High-Level Waste (HLW) Maintenance organization is responsible for planning, organizing and developing the equipment maintenance input to the HLW design. The position works collaboratively with the HLW Operations team to develop technical maintenance input to the design to ensure plant systems and equipment will be maintainable. The position also interfaces with other groups to develop and document maintenance strategies and approaches that reflect HLW Operations priorities, direction, and applicable codes and standards. The mission includes safely storing, treating, and immobilizing the highly hazardous radiological wastes created during prior periods of nuclear processing at the Hanford Reservation.
Within the HLW Maintenance organization, Maintenance support is needed for planning toward various types of equipment associated with mechanical handling, process, waste disposal, melter, off-gas, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), as well as the utility systems.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management or, economics and 6 years' experience in related Maintenance fields.
OR
Associate's degree in business, engineering, construction management, economics and 8 years' experience in related Maintenance fields.
OR
High School Diploma/GED and 10 years' experience in related Maintenance fields.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
(EFNM) Exposed Field Non-Manual
Performs desk work, including writing, computer workstation processes, and telephone operation. Arranges for and/or performs presentations, oral reports, planning meetings, and other formal and informal contacts, requiring long periods of sitting. Oversees field activities through inspections, testing and equipment operations, which requires walking, standing, bending, and turning along with wearing of personal protective equipment. Occasional loading, transport, and unloading of tools and/or supplies specific to an activity.
This position is currently located in Richland but may move to the Construction Site (22 miles north of Richland) and works a 9x80 schedule, M-F every other Friday off, 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Must be able to work in the United States without Sponsorship
Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy (DOE) badge for access to the Hanford site.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $115,543.99 - $182,530.01 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS
- Support development and implementation of spares and obsolescence management program
- Support Testing, Operability, Maintainability reviews, system design reviews, and related document reviews to ensure maintenance approaches and provisions are acceptable
- Support development of system and equipment maintenance approaches and strategies, including basic Computerized Maintenance Management System needs and constraints, Bill of Material (BOM) processes, and related maintenance concepts
- Program document development / writing to include maintenance strategies and program planning
- Innovate optimal maintenance practices to create opportunities through design / process improvements
- Support development of maintenance personnel organization planning
- Support the Waste Treatment Plant Nuclear Safety Quality Culture by emphasizing the values of safety and quality in the performance of work to protect self, others, and the environment

Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management or, economics and 6 years' experience in related Maintenance fields.

Experience:
- Minimum of six years of professional experience in Maintenance Programs
- Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft applications suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Candidate must have experience with Maintenance Programs for systems such as electrical, process, mechanical handling, and controls and instrumentation.
Preferred Experience:
- Maintenance performance, planning and coordination experience in the DOE / ISMS / VPP / Commercial Nuclear environment.
- One year of nuclear facility experience is preferred (Nuclear Experience when used in reference to Nonreactor Nuclear Facilities, is experience acquired at any facility in which radioactive materials are routinely handled, stored, processed, or utilized)
- Relevant Maintenance experience in an operating plant:
- Nuclear Maintenance Management Program planning and development
- Maintenance best practices in design reviews
- Aging and Obsolescence
- Design phase maintainability reviews
- Experience with remotability of equipment in high radiation areas
