Duties Summary
Performs complex project development and coordinative work in one of the functional program areas of the County's housing, community development, fair housing, disaster assessment, existing housing, and workforce development program; may supervise other professionals in the performance of project/program activities; and performs other related duties as required.
There is one (1) immediate full-time vacancy with the Office of Housing and Community Development - Grants Management Division in Hilo.
(Appointment may be made at any rate within the salary range advertised above at which appropriate qualified applicants can be recruited. Starting salary will be based on the qualifications of the person selected.)

- Develops and implement plan to meet program goals, objectives, and legal requirements.

- Attends meetings and public hearings to confer with civic groups, neighborhood boards, and other interested parties to explain purposes and program benefits.
- Keeps abreast of new and amended County, State, and Federal regulations and statutes related to the housing, community development, and/or workforce development program.
- Prepares necessary program reports.
- May supervise lower level specialist or other support staff.
- Trains subordinates to assure that knowledge of such regulations is maintained on a current basis.
