Minimum Qualifications
Graduation with a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in human resources, employee engagement, community engagement, marketing, or similar field of work. Relevant work experience must correlate to job duties listed above. Strong verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking skills, and ability to work independently required. Experience in planning and executing employee committees and events preferred. Experience in public speaking preferred.
A combination of education and related work experience will be considered

- Assist in the development, implementation, and measurement of engagement strategies and programs that continuously improve engagement among employees across the organization.
- Analyze data from culture surveys, employee focus groups and other projects to develop & implement retention strategies/programs.
- Participate in Gaston County's new employee orientation and collect employee experience data during the onboarding process.
- Manage programs and initiatives that focus on promoting employee appreciation and recognition, including but not limited to: Employee of the Year program, appreciation events, tenure recognition programs, and annual United Way campaign fundraising events.
- Lead and organize an internal employee committee and develop a calendar of employee events that provides meaningful experiences for employees.
- Ensure intranet, and other communications channels are current, reflect our employer brand, culture, values, and continue to be a relevant and useful platform for employees.
- Onboard new employees in HRIS system and serve as point of contact for new hires & their respective departments. Coordinate drug screens, Orientation dates, and employment paperwork with candidates.
- Participate in Career/Job Fairs and serve as a point of contact for potential candidates.
- Other duties as assigned
