Job Summary
The HR Director is responsible for leading the development and execution of the human capital strategy for Student Life divisions. As a key strategic advisor, the HR Director will have close working relationships with the Student Life leadership team to ensure that Human Resources programs fully support organization objectives and drive strategic results.

Advertised Salary
$105,000 - $115,000 per year based on education and experience.
Work Hours

Job Summary
The HR Director is responsible for leading the development and execution of the human capital strategy for Student Life divisions. As a key strategic advisor, the HR Director will have close working relationships with the Student Life leadership team to ensure that Human Resources programs fully support organization objectives and drive strategic results.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Provides guidance to vice provost and senior leaders during the creation and revision of position descriptions to ensure documented responsibilities are accurate and employee performance expectations are clear. Ensure proper alignment with the University's overall values and strategic objectives.
- Partners with senior leaders in Student Life to regularly deliver performance reviews that accurately detail employee performance.
- Performs job analysis for schools and business units to evaluate current jobs and make recommendations for performance improvement to leadership.
- Develops, implements, and manages the processes for organizational restructures in divisions.
- Supervises a team of HR professionals to support the needs of employee populations and ensure consistent application of all HR policies, processes, and systems.
- Serves on the campus HR leadership team with the Sr. HR Director to help determine strategic initiatives related to HR for the IU Bloomington campus.
- Develops, motivates and leads a highly effective HR team that delivers value to the organization with expert recruiting, talent and development, succession planning and other human capital activities.
- Partners directly with leadership to develop and implement HR strategies. Provides strategic HR oversight to specified client groups, acting as a trusted adviser to leadership.
- Acts as a primary point of contact for senior leaders, providing expertise and guidance in the areas of organizational performance, culture, and change.
- Coaches leaders on leadership behaviors and practices focusing on development and performance strategies to promote engagement and a culture of continuous growth and development.
- Lead key HR processes and initiatives, leveraging and partnering with COE's.
- Provides strategic HR consulting and problem-solving solutions on the most complex issues to leadership.
- Partners to create and ensure an environment of diversity and inclusion.

EDUCATION

- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources , Finance, Business or related field
- Master's Degree in related field

- 5 years of progressively responsible HR or related experience influencing a wide variety of internal stakeholders
- 2 years of management experience in HR or related functions

- SHRM-SCP/SHPR within 2 years from date of hire
