HR Generalist

Job Summary:

The HR Generalist will help to cultivate and develop the Gaine team. The successful candidate will have strong people skills and the ability to build relationships. The right candidate will be a resourceful team-player, with the ability to work effectively independently. The HR Generalist will be responsible for developing policies and procedures to improve efficiency and to improve employee experience. They will ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for talent acquisition and onboarding processes.
  • Provide an effective service to employees in relation to leave of absence.
  • Conduct and investigate grievance matters and employee-relations matters. Advise managers of progressive discipline policies.
  • Work with upper management on organizational changes.
  • Primary backup for payroll processing, including input of payroll exceptions, hourly employee validations, and benefit changes to include bonus/incentive pay, and related items with payroll.
  • Employee training as required.
  • Maintain communication, interpretation, and maintenance of employee handbook, employee directory.
  • Contribute to the development of company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all company and state required policies are up to date.
  • Employee relations.
  • Employee benefits to include worker's compensation and 401(k).,
  • Assist with employee review process.
  • All other duties as assigned by manager.


Knowledge, Skill, and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources management or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 5 years HR experience.
  • Talent Acquisition, Benefits Administration, Performance Management, Employment Law, Compensation, Wage Structure, and Organizational skills.
  • HIPAA compliance a plus.
  • ADP knowledge or similar HRIS system required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.


This is a full time, exempt, in-house position Monday through Friday. Upon job offer, applicant must pass background check in compliance with CA law. Salary range: $72,000 to $95,000 annually depending on experience.
