We are looking for a self-motivated and proactive HR Manager to lead and oversee the daily functions of our HR Department at Workshop/APD. This role is responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle, implementing HR best practices, supporting business objectives, and driving company culture. The HR Manager will also play a strategic and hands-on role in ensuring a seamless employee experience, while also serving as a trusted advisor to staff and leadership.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including job scoping, drafting descriptions, sourcing candidates, interviewing, coordinating with hiring managers, and extending offers.
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, team structuring, and hiring timelines to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Manage all HR systems and platforms, including Greenhouse (ATS) and Rippling (PEO/HRIS), ensuring data accuracy and integrity across all employee records.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor and point of contact for all employee relations, offering guidance on performance, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
  • Oversee employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation preparation, facilitating orientations, managing I-9 compliance, and conducting exit interviews.
  • Manage and execute employee benefits administration, leave of absence tracking, and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Develop and implement HR programs and initiatives to support employee engagement, wellness, professional development, and DEI efforts.
  • Uphold confidentiality, professionalism, and HR best practices in all matters relating to employee data, legal compliance, and internal processes.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, employment law, and compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound judgement and discretion in handling sensitive employee matters.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and resourceful with the ability to independently drive initiatives forward.
  • Experience using ATS (preferably Greenhouse), Rippling, Performance Management systems (preferably Leapsome), and other HR systems is required.

Position Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, including at least 2 years in a management or leadership role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and HRIS/ATS platforms.
