The HR Manager/Corporate EEO Officer represents the company both internally and externally in matters relating to human resources with a focus on equal employment opportunity, employment laws, and effective employee relations strategies in support of business goals.

  • Lead, develop, and manage a high-performing team that ensures the creation of strategies and workflows for launching new initiatives and strengthens the complete employee experience
  • Provides managers and supervisors with interpretations and guidance regarding HR policies and employment law and compliance matters to ensure fair and consistent application and compliance with regulatory requirements including EEO, FMLA, FLSA, and ADAAA; Work with accounting on related pay actions to paid leave policies
  • Performs variety of Affirmative Action / Equal Employment Opportunity functions, including assisting Project EEO Representatives with Affirmative Action compliance obligations and training. Responds to Department of Labor (DOL) Audits as necessary.
  • Conducts investigations into EEO and harassment complaints in the corporate office and on construction sites.
  • Promptly and thoroughly investigates human resource issues and complaints with assistance as necessary from department experts (legal, compliance, etc); maintains effective documentation on matters pertaining to investigations and resolutions.
  • Audits job descriptions and processes
  • Creates and implements trainings focused on increasing manager skill sets, as well as staff member trainings on professionalism, conflict management, diversity and inclusion, and sexual harassment
  • Proactively identifies methods and means to address recurring issues
  • Assists VP and CHRO with performance management issues, including reviews, and all aspects of progressive discipline, including performance improvement plans
  • With the VP and CHRO Plans, executes and leads compensation team projects requiring analysis of factors that cross organizational lines and impact multiple organizational units; Recommends, conducts and participates in assigned salary surveys in order to understand competitive compensation levels in the organization.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to ensure the company remains in compliance; Makes recommendations for HR policies and procedures and practices.
  • Acts as a resource for on-site EEO representatives.
  • Maintains files of all newsletters, bulletins, mailings and agendas which contain descriptions of EEO policies.
  • Assessment of recruitment budget and tools, including but not limited to applicant tracking systems, job boards, etc
  • Performs other human resource related duties as required by the VP and CHRO, as well as other members of senior leadership.
