This role is eligible to participate in Zenith's hybrid work schedule which provides the flexibility to work from home on select days of the week according to the in-office schedule established by regional executive leadership. Selected candidate must be able to report into the Woodland Hills, California office on a weekly basis.

A Brief Overview

The HR Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing HR processes, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies, and managing HR systems (including internally developed systems, HRIS, Applicant Tracking System, etc.) to improve efficiency and ensure data integrity. This role requires a high degree of independence, critical thinking, and strategic problem-solving to enhance HR operational effectiveness. The HR Operations Manager collaborates closely with IT Security, IT Innovation, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, L&D, Payroll, Benefits, and Compliance teams.

What you will do

HR Operations & Process Improvement
  • Develop and implement workflows, procedures, and best practices to improve operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, record management and retention.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across HR systems and reports.
  • Partner with HR leadership to optimize workflows and support business objectives.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain and audit employee records in accordance with legal and company requirements.
  • Work with compliance team to stay updated on employment law changes and provide recommendations on workflow or procedural changes to ensure compliance.
  • Support internal and external audits related to HR operations.

HRIS & Technology Management
  • Manage and maintain the HRIS, ensuring data integrity and system optimization.
  • Partner with the IT Innovation team to manage, maintain and design HR technology tools such as My Success Portal, Online ECN and the Hybrid tool.
  • Lead system upgrades, implementations, and integrations with other HR technology solutions.
  • Train HR team members and employees on HRIS functionality.
  • Generate reports and analytics to support workforce planning and decision-making.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between IT Security, IT Innovation, HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition, L&D, Payroll, Benefits, and Compliance teams for troubleshooting and system enhancements.
  • Evaluate, provide recommendations, and manage HR process outsourcing vendors and contracts.
  • Metrics, Reporting, & Strategic HR Support
  • Manage HR metrics to drive performance and add value across the organization providing regular reports to HRBPs and senior management.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Provide leadership in the development, administration, security, and compliance of HR systems and processes.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train new staff members.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides ongoing coaching, development, and timely performance evaluations
  • Support HR administration staff growth and ensure effective succession planning.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to team members, fostering professional development.

Other Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of HR strategies and initiatives.
  • Project management - Manage HR projects and initiatives, ensuring they are completed on time.
  • Perform additional HR-related duties as assigned.
  • Applies principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Work productively and harmoniously with others on a consistent basis.
  • Respond positively to direction and feedback on performance.
  • Consistently maintain professional and appropriate demeanor.


Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required


Experience Qualifications

  • 5+ Years progressively responsible work experience in HR operations, compliance or HRIS administration required


Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, HR compliance, and best practices.,
  • Experience managing and optimizing HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, ADP, UKG).,
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.,
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.,
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.,
  • Prior supervisory experience, preferred,


The expected salary range for this position is $148,920.12 to $165,466.80. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job level.
