HR Specialist/Manager

RH Strategic is seeking to expand its talent team to support the company's talent acquisition program and various employee onboarding and development activities. The HR Specialist/Manager role is ideal for professionals with at least six (6) years' experience in talent acquisition, talent pipelining and employee onboarding, of which at least four (4) years have been in the professional services and/or corporate environment. Strong candidates will possess a basic knowledge of the employee lifecycle in a professional services/corporate environment and be willing to support those activities. This is a full-time role, requiring an in-office presence of at least three (3) days per week in Washington, D.C.

The HR Specialist/Manager will be a member of the RH Strategic talent team.

Responsibilities include:

1. Talent Acquisition:
  • Create, distribute and manage job listings via BambooHR
  • Coordinate the interview process from candidate application to final offer and acceptance
  • Facilitate applicant review and pre-screening
  • Present qualified applicants to the hiring team
  • Train interviewers and guide the intention of each stage of the interview process
  • Organize and collect new hire paperwork in accordance with relevant state laws and regulations
  • Build a network of professionals appropriate for the firm talent pipeline
  • Partner with and engage relevant universities, professional associations and job recruitment channels to support candidate engagement and recruitment


2. Employee Lifecycle Facilitation:
  • Coordinate employee review cycles
  • Facilitate the distribution of and analyze results of the annual employee engagement surveys, support creation and execution of action plans
  • Support the talent development lead in working with talent managers on best practices for tracking performance, collecting feedback and navigating growth plans within the Lattice platform
  • Track and monitor the effectiveness of general talent administration activities (e.g. mentorship and management changes)
  • Participate in employee onboarding (including trainings) and offboarding processes


3. HR Compliance and Benefits:
  • Maintain employee files via BambooHR
  • Maintain employee records, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
  • Support the finance director with payroll and the preparation of monthly leave reports
  • Assist with developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all appropriate jurisdictions
  • Collect and facilitate planning for long-term leave requests (including parental leave, short- and long-term disability, and other absences that require resourcing and re-staffing considerations)
  • Support employee benefits programs, including selection, administration, and staff communication
  • Serve as the administrator for the 401(k) retirement plan and insurance plans, collaborating with firm partners and brokers
  • Engage prospective and current employees on the value of the firm's total benefits package
  • Maintain employment manuals and policy documentation; train employees on guidelines and expectations


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, communications or a related field
  • 6+ years of HR experience, preferably in a multi-location, professional services or corporate environment
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of people management and professional development platforms, including BambooHR and Lattice
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively interact with employees at all levels
  • High attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and a strong organizational system for meeting deadlines


Salary: $80,000 to $100,000 annually

This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. The Company may, in its discretion, also offer an annual bonus in an amount, if any, to be determined by the Company. Bonuses are not guaranteed.
