Description:
SUMMARY: The Business Partner is responsible for work with store and department leaders to provide guidance, input on change management, support company initiatives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations and provide resolution to problems.
Coach and counsel members of leadership and managers on career development, disciplinary actions and effective performance management.
Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity/engagement and retention.
Interpret policies for a diverse audience of employees.
Partner with store management to create development plans for high potential staff and address underperformers and coach to correct and improve performance.
Identify any safety hazards at store locations and work to correct issues.
Follow up with leadership team to establish accountability and resolution of problems.
Analyze turnover, injuries, and retention to determine improvements that will lead to increased productivity and sales at the store level.
Understand business needs and implement initiatives to improve people management and quality of work environment.
Ability to answer any Human Resource directed questions or refer to the correct person to provide information.
Facilitate training initiatives to address specific concerns, set milestones and gather appropriate information to improve working environment.
Visit company stores and interact with employees to assess work environment and any improvements that are necessary.
Provide feedback to Senior management on employee related issues and provide solutions to identified problems.
Partner with Human Resource administrative team to resolve employee issues related to payroll, benefits, LOA, and company policies.
Special project as needed and performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Computer Skills:
Able to effectively work with ADP and other proprietary software, google docs and email.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
Monday through Friday Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during office hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Weekend or evening availability based on store needs.
Must work 40 hours each week.
TRAVEL:
This position requires up to 20% travel (local, neighbor island and domestic)
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
A four-year degree in Human Resources or related field.
A minimum of 5 years of related work experience in Human Resources or retail environment.
Adapt to a fast-paced, challenging environment while supporting multiple business partners at the same time.
PHR and / or SHRM Certification preferred.
Professional experience in a corporate setting with the ability to effectively influence others.
Ability to establish and maintain cross-functional relationships across the organization.
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
Experience resolving complex employee relations issues, solutions-based approach.
