We have an opening for a Human Resources Business Partner. We operate within a hybrid work model, supporting flexibility between office time and work from home. Considering this model, this role could be based in the following cities:
  • Minneapolis

Human Resources is an emerging and rapidly growing function at DLR Group. Over the last 5 years our team size has grown from 3 team members to 17! In the last year alone, the team has overhauled our benefits & wellness offerings, completed a compensation maturity project, have expanded support internationally, implemented a new applicant tracking system, streamlined recruiting practices and are currently in the middle of a performance management re-vamp. As a member of this fast-growing team, there will be many opportunities to take on new challenges and initiatives.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to help us mature our function. This individual will lead activities for their area of responsibility associated with the performance management process (e. g. goal setting, mid-year and annual reviews, development planning) to ensure utilization of tools by management achieves business results. The HRBP will provide coaching and act as a strategic advisor to business leaders, manage employee relations issues, provide guidance on talent management and foster a culture of continuous improvement and engagement. This role also collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement HR Strategies, solve complex challenges and support leaders in achieving business goals.

What you will do:
  • Collaborate with leaders, providing insights and guidance on all things people/culture related
  • Manage and resolve employee relations issues
  • Implement strategies around performance management and career development programs, increasing adoption and effectiveness of programs
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures and provide guidance on complex HR issues to mitigate risk.
  • Analyze retention, engagement, turnover and other HR metrics and data to assess effectiveness, trends and recommend data driven solutions
  • Partners with internal clients, the HRBP team and broader HR team in the creation, implementation and ongoing execution of key talent programs and activities including but not limited to onboarding/offboarding, feedback and performance management and career development.
  • Assist with policy development and updates, conducting research of best practices in policies, programs, and competitive intelligence, as needed.
  • Manage and drive completion of multiple HR projects, simultaneously
  • Advise leaders on compensation best practices including appropriate starting salaries, promotional increases, etc.
  • Support leaders on retention and engagement efforts

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of HR Business Partner experience
  • Strong communication skills with ability to influence and build credibility at all levels
  • Continuous improvement mindset; seeking ways to drive innovation and efficiencies throughout the firm
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of employment laws and practices
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining confidential employment information
  • Some travel may be required

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the architecture, engineering, or design industry
  • Experience supporting a national, multi-location firm.
