Reporting to the Vice President, this newly created position will lead the hiring, onboarding, coaching and employee development efforts. This critical role combines both strategic planning and 'hands - on' leadership and requires a person who has previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution industry. This is a full-time role that will require your daily presence at our headquarters in Canton, Ohio
Position Summary:

The successful candidate will lead in developing talent management systems, recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, compensation analysis, employee retention, succession planning and developing employee satisfaction initiatives. This role requires a person who is comfortable performing tactical responsibilities -- ensuring that HR tools, training and resources are available to support every employee.

Manager of HR Responsibilities include:
  • Understand and identify the capabilities, skill sets and interests of human resources and use this data to determine staff development needs and staffing decisions.
  • Manage the recruitment process including sourcing, assessments, interviews, and offers.
  • Manage and oversee the development of talent management tools and training in relation to performance, calibration, and succession planning.
  • Manage and administer the HRIS - UKG, while overseeing the database of the organization's distinct roles and job descriptions.
  • Establish innovative sourcing strategies to attract top candidates including job posting optimization, job board procurement, digital and non-digital employment marketing, comprehensive annual recruitment campaign planning, and talent planning.
  • Provide leadership in the development and execution of recruitment strategies for all locations.
  • Manage contractual relationships with placement agencies, contract recruiters, job boards, job fairs and various internet job search websites.
  • Develop a comprehensive and meaningful on-boarding system.
  • Maintain administration and workflow of human resources programs including, leave of absence, workers compensation (TIRR with safety), FMLA, Unemployment Insurance, etc.
  • Provide direction, support, and expertise for individual development planning.
  • Identify talent and develop future leaders through appropriate job assignments and personal development plans.
  • Develop a mentorship program, with department managers, to assess and grow leadership capabilities of front-line employees.
  • Take a leadership role in developing a culture that enables employees to perform in accordance with the Company's objectives.
  • Encourage every employee to participate in the work process so that they become a partner in the implementation of plans and outcomes.
  • Initiate programs that instill an environment of trust, cooperation and communication for personal growth and the achievement of the company's goals


Qualifications for this role:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field; proven industry experience will be acceptable in lieu of degree.
  • Five or more years' experience in a variety of areas in human resources
  • Human Resources Certification highly preferred
  • Excellent knowledge of employment related laws and regulations
  • Proven experience in human resources management
  • Thorough knowledge of human resources management principles and best practices
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment, maintain confidentiality, and act in a diplomatic manner.
  • A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor.
  • An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
  • Well-organized and self-directed with ability to work with minimal amount of supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry related software programs HRIS system, preferably UKG.
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays pursuant with industry demands.
  • Occasional travel
  • Sound judgment, positive attitude and high level of organizational skills.
  • Other skills, experience and qualifications specific to manufacturing and or distribution.
  • Advanced knowledge of employment laws
