ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the HR Director, the Human Resource Manager is required to perform the following duties:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position supervises the Human Resources Department staff. This position receives supervision from the Human Resources Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in related field
Licensure: Valid Michigan driver's license
Experience/Skills:
Other: Must have access to transportation

PERSONAL DEMANDS
Personal demands refer to the physical demands, such as awkward positions, heavy lifting, etc., and the mental demands, such as concentration, attention, perception, etc.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee would expect light, regular physical demand, such as constant standing or walking; close attention, such as observation of gauges, timers, etc. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work environment refers to the elements of work surroundings which tend to be disagreeable or to make the work more difficult. These include, but are not limited to: dust, oil, fumes, water, heat, cold, vibrations, noise, dirt, etc.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee would expect that disagreeable elements are negligible. Good light and ventilation; reasonable quiet.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the direct supervision of the HR Director, the Human Resource Manager is required to perform the following duties:
- Plan, implement, and evaluate employee relations, human resource policies, programs, and practices
- Primary contact and resource for any audits or collaboration needed with QI/DM.
- Coordinate any special projects assigned to HR, as directed by the HR Director
- Participate in review, selection, and implementation of employee benefits programs, serve as primary backup to Benefits Specialist
- Conduct wage survey within labor market to determine competitive wage rate
- Provide guidance, direction, and support to supervisors
- Oversee and assist with disciplinary events, ensuring agency-wide consistency
- Conduct investigations
- Serve as a link between management and employees
- Cultivate professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
- Primary backup for FMLA/LOA in coordination with the Labor/Employee Relations Manager

- Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience in progressively responsible human resources role (HR Generalist duties)
- Must possess Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification
- Completely on-site position, hours generally will be between 8am-5pm, with occasional after-hours needs

Education: Master's degree in human resource related field
Experience:
- Five (5) years of recent experience in progressively responsible human resources role (HR Generalist duties)
- Supervisory experience
