Location: Bloomington, MN

Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt (In-Office)

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and support our team, reporting directly to the CEO. This pivotal role requires a proactive individual to oversee all aspects of HR management while fostering a positive, high-performance work environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in North American HR policies, employee engagement, recruiting, retention programs and organizational development, with at least 5 years of experience. Spanish proficiency is a bonus.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership:
  • Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to align HR strategies with business objectives.
  • Provide expert guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, and succession planning.

Human Resources Management:
  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures in compliance with North American labor laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and management on HR-related issues, including performance management, conflict resolution, and policy adherence.
  • Lead recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Manage employee relations and act as a liaison between staff and management to foster a positive workplace culture.

Training and Development:
  • Design and implement a comprehensive training curriculum to support employee skill development and career progression.
  • Coordinate and track employee training sessions and certifications.

Employee Administration:
  • Maintain and update employee records, including employment contracts, benefits enrollment, and performance evaluations.
  • Track and manage company-provided employee tools (e.g. laptops, phones, uniforms) to ensure accountability and proper documentation.

Engagement and Social Committee:
  • Organize and oversee social committee activities to enhance employee morale and engagement.
  • Plan and execute team-building events, holiday celebrations, and other cultural initiatives.

Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and provincial labor laws.
  • Prepare and submit regular HR reports to the CEO and management team, including metrics on hiring, turnover, training, and engagement.

Payroll:
  • Maintain all aspects of processing payroll from employee profile set-up, employee changes, tax information, terminations, rate changes, bonus payments, and all other payroll related items via company HRIS.
  • Responsible for garnishments, support order, liens processing, and all other required payroll deductions.
  • Coordinate with accounting/finance for all payroll related matters.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to meet strict payroll and other deadlines.
  • Process and submit bi-weekly payroll.

  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in HR software, Microsoft Office Suite, and tracking systems for employee tools and equipment.

Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in human resources management.
  • Strong knowledge of North American labor laws and regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HR software (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven experience in training program development and employee engagement initiatives.
