Purpose
Reporting to the Human Resources Director, this role partners with the Supply Chain and Operations leadership team to recommend and implement programs, policies and practices that drive associate engagement, performance and retention. This role manages day to day HR related matters including staffing, policy follow-through, Associate relations as well as provides guidance to Associates, Supervisors and Managers to ensure alignment to overall company objectives.

This role manages day to day HR related matters including staffing, policy follow-through, Associate relations as well as provides guidance to Associates, Supervisors and Managers to ensure alignment to overall company objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a strategic thought partner that provides leaders with support on a variety of business-related topics, and addressing and overcoming challenges related to employee relations, job and organization design, skill development and change management
- Collaborate with the Human Resources team to recommend, implement and champion programs and policies that support the overall direction of the organization
- Lead talent management processes (i.e. workforce planning, recruitment, engagement, performance management and learning and development) within client group to ensure the right people are in place and prepared to meet the challenges of the business
- Lead succession planning and leadership development. Assist leaders in designing development opportunities for their team
- Leverage data to make recommendations that improve associate engagement, performance and retention
- Maintain expert working knowledge of environmental factors influencing the business (i.e., HR legislation, best practices trends, etc.)
- Review existing and forthcoming legislation to determine HR impact on the organization; make recommendations regarding legislation
- Coordinate and/or conduct investigations and recommend appropriate corrective action
- Champion progressive Associate relations principles and facilitate complaint resolution
- Lead full cycle recruitment, providing support to hiring managers
- Manage communications related to staffing moves (e.g. new hires, separations, leaves, etc.) so that all stakeholders are well-informed
- Support managers in performance improvement plans, counsel and assist with employee discipline up to and including termination.
- Provide support and guidance on Employee Engagement improvement plans to managers
- Lead the corporate events agenda and facilitate events that will surprise and delight employees
- Provide support and assist with benefits related questions and concerns, claims resolutions, and any disability / WSIB transitional work management programs
- Act as back-up to other HR team members when needed
- Other ad hoc projects as assigned
- Occasional travel to other sites as needed
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:
- Post -secondary degree in Human Resources; CHRP or equivalent experience required
- 3 - 5 years' relevant work experience including: hands-on HR business partnership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of Employment Standards, Human Rights, WSIB, and Labour legislation
- Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of how to balance the needs of the business with positive Associate engagement
- Excellent communication skills combined with demonstrated problem solving ability
- Results orientated, self-starter with exceptional interpersonal skills who can influence and coach others effectively
- Superior collaborative and teamwork skills with the ability to quickly shift priorities to meet organization requirements collectively
- Strong professionalism and diplomacy pertaining to all areas of discretion and confidentiality
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook) and HRM systems
- Experience in a Time & Attendance environment; background with ADP an asset
Work Environment
- On-site (remote work on an ad hoc basis)
- Regular presence on Production floor
- Flexibility to be available on different shifts
