Job Title: RN Clinical Leader
Job Specialty: Long-term Care (LTC) Clinical Leader
Job Duration: 9 months
Shift: Full Time Evenings (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM), 5x8-hour shifts, every other weekend, holidays as needed
Guaranteed Hours: Not specified
Experience: Minimum of one year of nursing experience; supervisory experience is preferred
License: Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse licensure
Certifications: BLS required through AHA or RQI system, CPI to be obtained within 90 days of hire
Must-Have: Graduate of an accredited School of Registered Professional Nursing; BSN preferred
Job Description:
- Oversee the operation of nursing units under the direction of the Director of Nursing - LTC.
- Provide clinical supervision to employees assigned to various nursing units.
- Ensure quality resident care through teaching and supervision of staff during respective shifts.
- Communicate with the Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Manager regarding unit concerns, and collaborate to resolve issues.
- Make sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Administrator - LTC during off-shifts and weekends.
- Collaborate effectively with medical staff, department managers, ancillary services, and customers professionally.
- Manage oneself professionally under stressful situations and facilitate clinical management.
- Work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and promote teamwork through effective role modeling.
- Familiarity with NYSDOH requirements is essential.
- Demonstrate excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (both written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills.
- Maintain computer literacy.
- Anticipate occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens; required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, and tissue.
- Model, exemplify, and lead with professionalism, effective communication, and care for the environment, ensuring safety, promoting dignity, respect, well-being, and healthy relationships.
