The Toronto office has an opening for a Hydraulic Modeler, Water, to join our Municipal team.
Duties:
- Develop hydraulic and transient models for the water distribution networks to determine sound solutions for various private and municipal projects and clients
- Work in a team environment on a variety of projects that would include model build, calibration, and system analysis to assess system performance and use the model to develop solutions and strategies for improvement.
- Perform infrastructure assessment/planning studies including Environmental Assessments (EA), Master Plans, capacity analysis, etc.
- Collaborate with various design groups across the company with hydraulic modeling and analysis
- Assist with proposal development including write-up, project schedule, and fee estimation for modeling and associated engineering works
- Provide technical guidance to junior staff in performing their tasks.
- Prepare technical memorandums/ reports.
- Perform any other technical tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field, from an accredited post-secondary institution
- 5-8 years of experience in water distribution system modeling is required.
- Registered or eligible to apply for a P.Eng. license with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Aptitude for meeting schedules and budgets
- Proven capabilities in planning and writing reports and other technical documents.
- Possess a strong ability to develop and maintain good working relationships
- Experience with InfoWater/InfoWater Pro, and/or WaterGEMS
- Experience with InfoSurge and/or Bentley HAMMER will be considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of GIS tools.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage deadlines and field test requirements.
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and oral.
