Roles & Responsibilities
Software Development
1.Design and Develop ETL jobs using IBM Datastage to extract data from various sources, transform it, and load.
2. Optimize Datastage jobs for performance and efficiency.
3. Perform job orchestration using job sequences and parallel processing features.
Data Integration and Transformation
1. Integrate data from heterogenous sources like flat files, databases, APIs etc.
2. Apply business rules and logic to transform raw data into meaningful insights.
3. Handle Data cleansing, formatting, deduplication, and validation.
Database Development (SQL and Teradata)
1. Write complex SQL queries to extract, join, and manipulate data in Teradata and other RDBMS.
2. Design and manage data models, views, and stored procedures.
3. Analyze and tune SQL queries for performance.
Unix Shell Scripting
1. Develop shell scripts to automate ETL processes, manage files, and control job execution.
2. Schedule and monitor ETL jobs using scheduling tools like Autosys, Cron.
3. Handle Log parsing, error handling and alerts via shell scripts.
Performance Tuning and Defect Monitoring
1. Monitor jobs and query performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements.
2. Use Teradata utilities for bulk data operations.
3. Troubleshoot production defects.
Collaboration
1. Work closely with data analysts, DBAs and business stakeholders to gather requirements.
2. Participate in code reviews, design sessions and agile/scrum ceremonies.
Salary Range - $100000 to $150000 a year
