Job Description:
The I&E Engineer will provide I/E/A Maintenance support to the Texas City site (PX, MX, EB, SM) operating facilities to ensure equipment integrity is preserved. This role contributes to achieving and maintaining 1st quartile performance in asset utilization (uptime & quality) and maintenance costs. The Instrument/Electrical/Analyzer Maintenance Engineer continually interacts with the operations group to ensure timely and cost-effective maintenance troubleshooting and repairs to the I/E/A assets in the process unit, utilities and the docks. The employee is involved daily with unit maintenance, particularly the electrical, instrument, and analyzer departments to assist in troubleshooting and development of procedures and practices. The employee interacts with operations and process engineering groups to plan, prioritize, and execute TAR projects.

Job Description:
The I&E Engineer will provide I/E/A Maintenance support to the Texas City site (PX, MX, EB, SM) operating facilities to ensure equipment integrity is preserved. This role contributes to achieving and maintaining 1st quartile performance in asset utilization (uptime & quality) and maintenance costs. The employee is involved daily with unit maintenance, particularly the electrical, instrument, and analyzer departments to assist in troubleshooting and development of procedures and practices. The employee interacts with operations and process engineering groups to plan, prioritize, and execute TAR projects.

- An asset engineer and a champion of the 20 Principles and Life Saving Rules
- Integrity responsibility for the critical assets and protective systems.
- Work with maintenance supervisors to develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs on existing equipment based on manufacture's recommendation or best engineering practices
- Develop/manage I/E/A inspection program to maintain mechanical integrity and compliance with all engineering/regulatory codes.
- Support the Management of Change process through PHA and PSSR Evaluations
- Lead/participate in incident investigations to identify root causes and corrective recommendations to prevent reoccurrence
- Provide leadership to improve equipment reliability and reduce vulnerabilities.
- Follow-up (direct technical support or lead focus teams) on equipment failures, determine root causes and identify actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Apply proactive reliability processes (i.e. criticality ranking, bad actor focus, root cause failure analysis) to ensure long term reliability.
- Benchmark internally and externally to identify and share best practices.
- Work within SAP and develop work plans within.
- Be the focal point for plant I/E/A electronic documents and drawings.
- Troubleshoot, along with I/E/A techs, operations staff, daily instrument and electrical problems
- Initiate and implement I/E/A MOCs.
- Optimize equipment spare parts and predictive/preventative maintenance practices to ensure required reliability at lower cost.
- Ensure reliability/maintenance issues are considered and addressed on new equipment installations.
- Highlight and correct maintenance and operational practices that negatively impact reliability.
- Provide technical assistance for critical work in progress and for scope development of planned packages for regular and shutdown maintenance
- Develop maintenance job procedures as required and ensure a consistent review process is maintained.
- The position of Instrument/Electrical/Analyzer engineer interacts with the maintenance manager to manage the prioritization, scheduling, and execution of plant maintenance and TAR repairs.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of Electrical Engineering degree with 5 years maintenance & reliability/engineering experience in a chemical/petrochemical plant.
- A strong demonstrated competence in Electrical Equipment (i.e. high voltage systems, power distribution, motors, UPS systems).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Control System Equipment (i.e. control valves, transmitters, computer based & electronic instrumentation, PLC/DCS (Allen Bradley & Honeywell system knowledge a plus), Ladder Logic, Triconex systems, analyzers). Knowledge of refrigeration systems a plus.
- Demonstrated performance in the area of leadership and facilitation within a technical/manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills
- Knowledge of engineering contracting and project execution is essential.
- Strong knowledge of instrument, electrical and analyzer standards and practices is key to interaction with vendors, contractors, managers and hourly personnel.
- A background in the petrochemical industry with a focus on styrene is beneficial
