The ILS Specialist II (Engineering Analyst) - 12 Month Limited Term will play a dual role, supporting the Maintenance Planning Lead with the development and execution of maintenance plans while also conducting Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) activities under the direction of the Supervisor, LSA and the LSA Manager. This position ensures that shipbuilding equipment, whether in storage, installed on vessels, or commissioned, is effectively maintained and supported through comprehensive logistics strategies. The role will focus on ensuring maintenance readiness, developing process optimizations and developing Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) products for Vancouver Shipyards new construction programs.
Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.
This is a 12 Month Limited term employment with eligible benefits and 3 weeks' vacation.

The estimated salary for this position is $87,000-$104,400. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate's skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.

What you'll do
Maintenance Planning Support:
- Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules for shipbuilding equipment in storage, on vessels, and post-commissioning.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, and test & trials teams to ensure maintenance plans align with project timelines and operational requirements.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and support the documentation of maintenance procedures and standards.
Logistics Support Analysis (LSA):
- Conduct LSA activities, including reliability, availability, maintainability, and supportability (RAMS) analysis.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation such as Maintenance Task Analyses (MTA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), and Life Cycle Cost (LCC) Analysis.
- Support the creation of maintenance manuals, spare parts lists, and provisioning data.
Document and Compliance:
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and generate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support audits and inspections as required.
Other Duties:
- Follow schedule and budget
- Participate and chair meetings and forums as required
- Control and achieve the desired quality for all deliverables
- Review and approve vendor documentation
- Any other duties as required by LSA Manager.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate security clearance as per contract requirements.
What you'll bring
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, or equivalent applicable experience.
- Masters in marine engineering, Asset Management, Naval Architecture, Engineering Management considered an asset.
- Experience working in shipbuilding, defense, aviation, or rail is highly desirable.
- ILS experience or other engineering related experience desirable.
- PEng or other certifications are desirable.
