Position Summary:
The Director of Imaging Services is responsible for the overall management, leadership, and direction of Imaging Services, including CT, Radiology, Ultrasound, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, PACS, and other radiology modalities. This includes long-term planning, program and staff development, resource and budget management, quality monitoring and improvement, and evaluating policies and procedures to ensure quality patient care and patient satisfaction. The Director works in cooperation with the Medical Director of Imaging to meet regulatory and accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities:
People Management and Leadership:
- Direct, develop, and implement strategic and operational projects and processes, either independently or through team facilitation, to effectively meet departmental objectives.
- Oversee the management and development of staff to ensure quality, service, and cost-effectiveness. Provide guidance, feedback, and support to employees to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Conduct regular department meetings, performance appraisals, coaching/counseling, and recognition/commendations to foster employee engagement and meet performance goals.
- Establish and promote strategic relationships between departments to achieve business goals. Encourage teamwork within and across departments, and lead process improvement initiatives.
- Lead the development and execution of policies and procedures to ensure a safe and effective work environment.
Service and Operational Management:
- Oversee department operations, schedules, and activities to ensure goals are met within timeframes. Provide direction to staff to ensure optimal delivery of service and customer satisfaction.
- Set and achieve department goals, collaborating with relevant staff to align departmental objectives with overall organizational goals.
- Represent the department on various committees, advocating for its interests and promoting its values.
Quality and Safety Management:
- Ensure a safe and effective working environment, monitor and revise safety plans, and ensure staff credentials and competencies are maintained.
- Proactively optimize department workflow, using lean principles and peer-to-peer accountability to improve safety and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and standards, and address any non-compliance issues promptly.
- Promote patient safety and performance excellence within all imaging areas.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage department budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations while meeting financial targets.
- Plan for capital needs and ensure that staffing plans reflect the financial needs of the department.
- Monitor department performance and identify areas for cost reduction, such as optimizing productivity, managing supply usage, and minimizing overtime.
Growth and Innovation:
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve department operations and practices. Lead task forces and committees to drive change and enhance performance.
- Adjust effectively to changes in work responsibilities or environment, and lead change initiatives within the department.
- Foster ongoing career development for both staff and self, including the completion of development plans and participation in professional organizations.
- Serve as an internal expert and develop training programs for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Required Qualifications:
- Certification in one or more imaging modalities (e.g., CMRT - Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist, RDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proven leadership and management skills with experience overseeing large teams.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- In-depth knowledge of imaging services and regulatory standards.
- Proficiency in budget management and financial analysis.
