The One 23 Group is seeking a highly skilled Immigration Statistician (Journeyman) with 5+ years of experience in data management, statistical analysis, and policy implementation. This role is critical for overseeing the processes, policies, and standards used to manage immigration data, ensuring data integrity, compliance, and alignment with business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data governance, data quality assurance, and privacy regulations, with experience developing and implementing data management strategies that support policy development, operational planning, and decision-making within DHS. (Hybrid work schedule - 80% Remote, 20% In Office)

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement data governance frameworks and data management strategies to ensure compliance with DHS policies and federal regulations.
  • Oversee processes, policies, and standards used to manage immigration data, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and security.
  • Analyze immigration-related data to identify trends, inform policy decisions, and support operational improvements.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing validation methods, error-checking protocols, and standardization procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align data initiatives with DHS priorities and business objectives.
  • Develop data privacy policies and implement safeguards to protect sensitive immigration data.
  • Monitor and enforce data compliance with relevant laws, including the Privacy Act and federal data security guidelines.
  • Coordinate with IT and data analysts to optimize data systems, improve data reporting capabilities, and enhance data-sharing processes.
  • Prepare statistical reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to communicate findings and support decision-making.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on data collection methodologies and statistical analysis techniques.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data management, statistical analysis, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance principles, data privacy regulations, and data quality assurance.
  • Experience developing and implementing data management policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, and data query tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex immigration data and provide actionable insights.
  • Experience working with large datasets, data cleaning, and data validation techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including policy analysts, IT professionals, and government stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate data findings into clear, concise reports and presentations.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in immigration policy, homeland security, or government agencies.
  • Knowledge of federal data security policies, including FISMA, Privacy Act, and DHS-specific regulations.
  • Experience with machine learning, AI-driven analytics, or predictive modeling for immigration data trends.
