Immigration Operations Manager

Siemens Global Mobility Management (GMM) provides scalable cross-border personnel movement solutions to internal and external customers. The U.S. Immigration Operations Manager will be responsible for the operational management of the Siemens US Immigration program under the direction of the US Immigration Program Director. They will be responsible for managing the day-to-day immigration operations, ensuring compliance with immigration laws and regulations, and implementing strategic initiatives as outlined by the US Immigration Program Director. The U.S. Immigration Operations Manager will direct and lead a team of Immigration professionals who are responsible for in-house U.S. Immigration consultative services incl. strategies and maintaining a compliant U.S. Immigration program implementing any respective regulatory changes in addition to ensuring movement throughout the process in a timely manner while utilizing the outside legal service provider. The U.S. Immigration Operations Manager will develop operational best practices to improve our level of service and efficiency to our businesses and customers.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead an experienced team of U.S. Immigration professionals to provide the best possible U.S. Immigration support to the business.
  • Manage the day-to-day U.S. Immigration operations, services and case processing.
  • Ensure adherence to U.S. Immigration laws, regulations, and company policies including the maintenance of accurate U.S. Immigration records, documentation in addition to monitoring legislative changes to assess impacts on the business and current strategies.
  • Execute the strategic vision and initiatives as established by the U.S. Immigration Program Director and company.
  • Mentor, counsel and develop the growth of all team members to position them for success and service excellence.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership on U.S. Immigration matters to P&O, business management, and customers.
  • Demonstrate a management style that encourages participation and ownership, along with a continuous focus on compliant action, customer happiness, and personnel satisfaction.
  • Collect, implement, and monitor the metrics directed by the U.S. Immigration Program Director to evaluate the team's performance, including efficiency, quality, and thoroughness to meet objectives.
  • Provide and solicit operational review and analysis of U.S. Immigration processes to monitor and determine process and policy gaps, to support drafting and operational implementation of policies, services and processes.
  • Provide consultations on operationally complex and high-level matters to develop strategies to mitigate risk and provide timely solutions.
  • Lead and partner on specialized projects with a strategic focus on operational U.S. Immigration matters.
  • Ensure that our vendors and internal partners provide a high-quality experience to employees, managers, and business stakeholders by providing operational management oversight, guidance, and accountability.
  • Role model partnership and collaboration at all levels with internal stakeholders with a focus on our overall people experience.
  • Provide critical subject matter expertise for corporate development activity, i.e., mergers and acquisitions.
  • Lead various internal reviews or audits of operational-level U.S. Immigration data, processes, and policies.
  • Develop and deliver customer-focused operational education materials, seminars, Q&As, etc.
  • Collaborate with the growing global mobility team on other team initiatives and projects as assigned.
  • Serve as the escalation point of contact for all operational stakeholders including employees, managers, and P&O colleagues.
  • Determine and implement operational strategies, conduct needs assessments, performance reviews, capacity planning, and cost/benefit analyses, specifically focused on identifying and evaluating available state-of-the-art technologies.
  • Ensure that employees and internal stakeholders consistently receive high-quality, emotionally intelligent support, and build systems to deliver it efficiency.
  • Expected to take on additional program ownership in the U.S. Immigration area as the team scales to meet company growth needs.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Law, or from an accredited university with a focus in same.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in U.S. Immigration program management or experience in supportive role within Immigration having a strong understanding of U.S. Immigration laws and regulations.
  • Experience working in a corporate environment with a diverse workforce
  • Knowledge of employment-based visa (e.g. H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-1) and other categories (e.g. H-3, J-1, F-1).
  • Basic understanding of Global Mobility Services and programs.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. Immigration laws, regulations, and company processes.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Knowledge of Global Mobility compliance processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and stakeholders as well as conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective U.S. Immigration strategies and solutions.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Professional experience in process optimization by leveraging technology at a Global Company.
  • Preferred experience in leading large-scale projects in a multicultural environment including managing stakeholders, preferably in the field of Immigration.
  • Significant experience in process improvement projects and initiative including implementing and transitioning to new tools or handling ecosystem upgrades.
  • Strong background in change management (accompanying process and organizational changes), M&A and project management.

  • Adept at building relationships and working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including employees, P&O team members, legal advisors, and external vendors.
  • Familiar with U.S. Immigration management software, HR systems, and tools for tracking and reporting immigration status and compliance.
  • Develop and manage the delivery of training programs for customers on Immigration policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to handle urgent and sensitive U.S. Immigration issues, providing timely and appropriate responses to ensure compliance and support for affected customers.
  • Remain updated on changes in U.S. Immigration laws and regulations to ensure the company adapts policies and practices accordingly.
  • Focus on providing excellent support and guidance to internal stakeholders throughout the U.S. Immigration process.

The pay range for this position is $89,670 -$153,720. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
