As an Income Tax Compliance Manager, you will create impact as a key person in executing the Corporate Tax team mandate to provide income tax compliance services to the consolidated group. This includes delivering accurate and timely income tax filing and income tax accounting provision services to the Co-operators group of companies (P&C and Life insurance and all other non insurance companies), managing efficient end to end processes in collaboration with internal finance teams, effectively managing government income tax audits, delivering accurate and timely tax filing and compliance processes for ancillary filings & delivering timely advisory support to the business.

As an Income Tax Compliance Manager, you will create impact as a key person in executing the Corporate Tax team mandate to provide income tax compliance services to the consolidated group. This includes delivering accurate and timely income tax filing and income tax accounting provision services to the Co-operators group of companies (P&C and Life insurance and all other non insurance companies), managing efficient end to end processes in collaboration with internal finance teams, effectively managing government income tax audits, delivering accurate and timely tax filing and compliance processes for ancillary filings & delivering timely advisory support to the business.
How you will create impact:
- Delivering corporation income tax filing and income tax provision services for assigned entities.
- Leading and managing the government income tax audits.
- Managing the segregated fund T3 tax filing and/or other filings including T5, NPO, Charity and FATCA/CRS reporting processes for the consolidated group of companies.
- Managing the execution of the income tax payment process ensuring accurate and timely payments and appropriate installments are made.
- Managing communication with government authorities to ensure tax accounts, filings and elections are appropriately reflected.
- Responsible for ensuring processes are documented and relevant controls are maintained at the required level.
- Supporting Tax Planning & Advisory team for research & analysis & provide insights into the compliance implications.

To join our team:
- You have 5 years of progressive income tax experience; preferably in public accounting or the financial services industry.
- Having the Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified General Accountant (CGA) designation is required.
- You have completed a post-secondary degree in Business Administration or economics or other related discipline.
- You have completed the In-depth tax course or equivalent.
- You have strong tax accounting skills and knowledge of IFRS.
- You have strong knowledge of complex Canadian income tax concepts and demonstrated ability to effectively undertake tax research.
- You have experience working with technology and automated solutions to execute tax provision and/or tax compliance processes.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment and work well with all levels of the organization.
