ATCO STRUCTURES AND LOGISTICS (USA) INC. ("ASL-USA") is seeking an Indirect Tax Manager for our Corporate Officein Spring. Under the direction of the Controller, the Indirect Tax Manager will perform indirect state and local tax functions, including compliance, process improvement, research, and audit support related to the company's state sales, use, property tax, local excise tax, and business license registration and renewal.

  • Reconciles sales tax returns to underlying return details, general ledgers, and systems of original entry
  • Follows the Tax Compliance Calendar to ensure all State and Local jurisdictional special returns are filed promptly
  • Develops in-depth functional knowledge of the company and industry to identify sales and use tax issues and provides value-add recommendations
  • Handles sales and use tax audits, preparation of responses to taxing authorities, and addresses any audit findings in a timely fashion
  • Researches indirect tax requirements for new locations or acquisitions while coordinating with relevant departments to ensure compliance
  • Stays up-to-date with tax laws to ensure compliance and provide strategic guidance to senior management
  • Assists with the implementation of sales and use tax software
  • Manages property tax compliance, rendition, and payment tax calendar, and develops strategies to minimize liabilities
  • Maintains monthly property tax accrual schedule
  • Responsible for the management of business license registration and renewal
  • Works closely with other teams, including accounting and operations, to ensure that all tax-related matters are handled efficiently
  • Undertakes ad-hoc tasks and projects as required by senior management

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of five years of experience in multi-state indirect tax compliance
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and desire to continuously look for process improvements
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work independently
  • Oracle Cloud & SmartView Reporting experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel Skills
  • 3 to 5 plus years of experience in broad range of state and local, property tax, annual reporting, and other non-income tax processes and tools
