Industrial Electrical Systems Engineer

Hupp Electric Motors seeks an energetic, outgoing, and dynamic Industrial Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in PLC and SCADA/HMI programming, configuration, and system design
• Experience performing arc flash analysis/studies is a plus.
• Experience with AC/DC motors, motor controllers, high voltage systems, 480VAC power distribution, transformers, automation, and process control systems
• Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar discipline preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on controls systems programming, configuration, and installation
• Technical support during testing and commissioning
• Install and troubleshoot field devices (drives, PLCs, HMIs, etc)
• Perform and/or provide oversight for short circuit calculations, medium and low-voltage coordination evaluations to optimize protective relay and breaker settings, and arc flash studies in compliance with NFPA, IEEE 1584, and other industry standards
• Perform on-site data collection activities as needed
• Prepare engineering documentation (drawings, prints, sketches, instructions, test procedures etc.) according to industry codes, standards, and regulations to support client engineering needs
• Read and interpret electrical prints for problem diagnosis
• Assist in project tracking and documentation
• Follow safety rules and policies and work in a manner that protects themselves and other stakeholders from hazards and injuries.
• Execute projects in accordance with company standards including attention to safety, efficiency, and quality
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities in equipment and processes and select new technologies for implementation

Experience

• Programming Allen Bradley, Modicon, and/or Siemens PLC's
• Programming FactoryTalk View SE/ME, Wonderware, LabView, iFix, and/or similar packages
• Hard-wired controls and troubleshooting skills
• Computer networks and/or information technology
• Arc Flash Analysis is a plus
• SKM software experience
• Experience analyzing process/instrumentation diagrams
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Water or wastewater, and aggregate industry experience, a plus
• Sales experience is a plus
