Job Description

Seneca Global Services is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) ready to support a dynamic, cutting-edge DoD cyber acquisition program in Orlando, FL. This position will perform in-depth program analysis and coordination assignments, and services in support of the program. The ideal candidate for this role must be comfortable working in a transparent, collaborative team environment and possess outstanding communication, leadership, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

The Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) will be responsible for conducting systems security and privacy engineering activities as part member of the DevSecOps process.
  • Integrate into a team which captures and refines security and privacy requirements for systems and ensures that the requirements are effectively integrated into systems and system elements through security or privacy architecting, design, development, and configuration.
  • Design and develop organizational systems or upgrading existing systems along with ensuring continuous monitoring requirements are addressed at the system level.
  • Employ best practices when implementing controls including software engineering methodologies; system and security or privacy engineering principles; secure or privacy-enhancing design, secure or privacy-enhancing architecture, and secure or privacy-enhancing coding techniques.
  • Coordinate security and privacy activities with senior agency information security officers, senior agency officials for privacy, security and privacy architects, system owners, common control providers, and system security or privacy officers.
  • Establish and implement security procedures and practices in support of Customer goals and current DoD regulations.
  • Provide security engineering review of proposed changes or additions to the IS (including hardware, software, or connectivity), and advise the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) of the security relevance.
  • Conduct systems security or privacy engineering activities as part of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), to include capturing and refining safety and privacy requirements for systems and ensuring that the conditions are effectively integrated into systems and system elements through security or privacy architecting, design, development, and configuration.
  • Conduct system assessments, identify/implement modifications to bring systems into compliance, recommend security risk mitigation solutions, assist with preparing packages for validation, and support generation of required system documentation.
  • Support the production, fielding, operations, and support phases for new systems and legacy systems - to include services such as pre-test preparations, participation in test events, analysis of results, and development of recommendations.
  • Employ best practices when implementing controls, including software engineering methodologies, system and security or privacy engineering principles, secure or privacy-enhancing design, secure or privacy-enhancing architecture, and secure or privacy-enhancing coding techniques.
  • Coordinate security and privacy activities with senior agency information security officers, senior agency officials for privacy, security and privacy architects, system owners, standard control providers, and system security or privacy officers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
  • An active Top Secret Clearance Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Engineering, or relevant field from an accredited college/university; years of experience may be used as a substitute for education
  • 3-5 yrs. in IT, Cyber Security, and/or related Engineering
  • Must have at least 1 certification in IAM I or IAM II.
  • Expertise/knowledge/experience with the following technologies:
    • VMWare - Virtualization and security (vSphere, vCenter, NSX, ESXi)
    • RHEL - Ansible, Kubernetes, StackRox, OpenShift
    • AWS/Azure - Cloud technologies/Containerization
    • F5 BIG IP and Cisco - networking devices/distributed technologies
  • STIG and IAVA implementation
  • NetApp - Storage technologies
  • Dell Blade Servers

Desired Skills:
  • Agile DevSecOps (SCRUM/JIRA/Confluence)
