QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Demonstrated knowledge of instructional technology theory and practice, including integration of technology into the curriculum and teaching methods to advance student learning.
2. Ability to plan, organize, manage, and lead the technology department.
3. Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training in information technology that will provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
4. Minimum of two industry-standard technology certifications; examples are Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MSCE), or A+/Net+/Server+ from CompTIA.
5. Strong demonstrated knowledge and competence in planning, implementation, operation, and maintenance of technology hardware (examples may include devices, servers, network switches, routers, phone systems, facility cameras, and projection devices), network management and infrastructure, software, and operating systems.
6. Effective oral and written communication skills.
7. Satisfactory driving record and insurability.

JOB GOALS:
1. To provide technical leadership and assistance in the establishment, maintenance and improvement of a comprehensive, coordinated and networked system of technology.
2. To assure that technology is maintained in the most efficient and cost effective manner to promote maximum instructional support.
SUPERVISES: Technology Support Technicians, Technology Support Specialists, and Network Specialists.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure the efficient, effective operation of the Technology Department, developing and articulating a visionary focus within the areas of educational technology and integration of technology into curriculum content areas that will enhance student learning. Lead and coordinate the ongoing district technology development and implementation, including research and development of recommendations for all new technologies under consideration across functions within Sheridan County School District #2. Manage technology project design, implementation, and improvement including: Coordination and assignment of district technology projects prioritized by instructional impact considerations. Documentation and review of all district technology projects. Manage district requests for technological hardware and software. Provide leadership in the development of a comprehensive and effective instructional program including: Aligning technology priorities and budget projections, planning, and expenditures consistent with applicable grant, state, and district purchasing requirements. Serving as a resource to building administrators and teachers. Serving as the District Virtual Learning Coordinator. Configure and administer network devices, network operating systems, email and phone systems, camera systems, and network security. Coordinate the assessment, upgrade and maintenance of computer and network hardware and software. Make professional, timely and accurate diagnosis of technology malfunctions in order to make effective, appropriate and quality repair or replacement. Provide, coordinate, and communicate technical information and assistance for district staff. Organize and maintain technology-related data necessary to the operation of the technology department, including district hardware inventory records to implement a replacement plan and maintain optimal student:device ratios. Ensure adequate and uniform distribution of technology through accurate planning and needs assessment. Maintain district software purchase records for site licensing, student safety, and copyright requirements, assuring district compliance. In conjunction with the Policy Review Team, coordinate the development of school district policies related to technology uses. Prepare data, information, or reports to meet state and federal requirements, including assisting the Business Manager with e-rate information reporting and assisting the District Data Team. I Lead the development and implementation of an effective technology plan to drive decisions and priorities for technology integration, professional development, and funding. Conduct professional development, workshops, and technical training to district staff as necessary. Update technical training and education required to meet the needs of the district. Acquire and disseminate information, trends, and any other necessary information related to technology, including AI guidance for students and staff
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve months with vacations as per District Policy. Salary and fringe benefits to be set by Board of Trustees.
