SUMMARY OF POSITION

This position is responsible for leading the organization's Enterprise Applications strategy and implementation. The IT Director collaborates with business leaders, functional department heads, and teams to align IT priorities and resources with corporate vision and strategy. They will direct and manage technical staff to develop and implement cost-effective systems, ensuring efficient operations meet current and future needs. The role provides organizational leadership in information technology policy and planning, fostering innovation and digital transformation across all business functions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field with preferably 10+ years of experience in an enterprise applications environment.
  • Proven leadership experience in enterprise IT or similar technical environments
  • Proven ability to set strategic direction to meet short and long-term requirements
  • Ability to manage and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communications, team building, presentation, negotiating, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills.


Position Requirements

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

IT Strategy and Leadership
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy that supports business objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technological initiatives that deliver value to the business.
  • Lead and manage a staff comprising 8 to 10 team members and/or directly contracted staff, providing them with guidance, support and feedback as to organizational, project and daily priorities.
  • Develop and manage the technology budget (hardware and software), ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet business needs.
  • Communicate and collaborate with customers on technology integrations / projects as necessary for the company to best support the various districts, state and community partners it serves.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging trends, opportunities and challenges for department and overall business strategies.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of technology solutions that drive operational efficiency and improve our staff members' experiences.


Infrastructure and Systems Management
  • Administer and optimize cloud-based Microsoft Office 365 applications to enhance collaboration and productivity across the organization.
  • Implement and manage cybersecurity, backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Manage IT services providers, establishing and maintaining SLA windows and escalation practices for all critical systems and processes.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for technology solutions and services.
  • Manage the relationship with the external Managed Service Provider (MSP), ensuring proper IT environment security and Windows systems patching.
  • Lifecycle planning and implementation for IT software and hardware resources.
  • Network and policy configuration: Develop and maintain system documentation, including configuration settings, user guides, and technical procedures.
  • Document network infrastructure, including IT Department protocols and processes, as well as tools and workflows developed for administration and other departments


Team Management and Support
  • Plans and manages departmental staffing, development and organization (including outside resources) to ensure alignment with the business plans of the company.
  • Manage daily operations of the IT department by leading and mentoring a team of IT support staff (historically 8 to 10 direct or contracted employees), providing technical guidance and fostering professional development.
  • Foster and encourage a synergistic, supportive, learning environment for IT Team members to grow professionally and engage their peers across the organization supportively
  • Collaborate with site-level staff and remote employees to identify and resolve IT issues, ensuring high levels of user satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance across all locations.
  • Provide guidance and management for the creation of support, testing, and changes to management processes to minimize operational risk while maintaining transparency to stakeholders.


Security and Compliance
  • Ensure that technology solutions are secure, reliable, and scalable.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.
