ABOUT OPHR
The Operations and Human Resources (OPHR) team plays a vital role in supporting NHT's people, systems, and workplace operations. We ensure that staff have the resources, policies, and infrastructure needed to thrive. Our work spans HR, office management, IT coordination, leadership support, and overall organizational operations to help NHT run effectively and efficiently.

POSITION
The IT Manager will lead the development of a comprehensive IT strategy that aligns with NHT's organizational priorities, ensuring that technology enables innovation, collaboration, and efficiency across all program areas. This includes evaluating and implementing cutting-edge technologies, integrating systems to streamline operations, and ensuring that IT solutions are scalable to support NHT's growth. The IT Manager will also play a key role in identifying opportunities to leverage technology to amplify NHT's impact, such as through data-driven decision-making, enhanced communication tools, and secure, accessible platforms for staff and stakeholders.
In addition to strategic support, the IT Manager will oversee the operations of NHT's technology infrastructure, ensuring systems are reliable, secure, and user-friendly. This includes managing IT vendors, providing technical support to staff, and maintaining robust cybersecurity protocols. The IT Manager will also be responsible for training and empowering staff to effectively use technology, fostering a culture of digital literacy and collaboration across the organization.
Reporting to the Senior Director of HR, the IT Manager will collaborate closely with leadership, program teams, and external partners to ensure that NHT's technology infrastructure meets the needs of a dynamic, mission-driven organization.
This DC-based position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

- Senior Director of HR - Leads HR strategy, policies, and overall team operations.
- HR Manager - Manages HR operations, recruiting and hiring, pre-onboarding and offboarding, and employee relations and communications.
- Senior HR Generalist - Administers Payroll and benefits, HR compliance, onboarding, and employee engagement.
- Office and Governance Manager - ensures efficient office operations, manages governance processes and board logistics, and oversees administrative functions to support organizational effectiveness and compliance.
- IT Manager - Develops and executes NHT's technology strategies, overseeing IT operations, security, IT vendor management, and staff support to enhance efficiency and collaboration.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic IT Leadership
- Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with NHT's strategic goals, with a focus on financial sustainability, efficiency, and security.
- Assess and address technological solutions that improve workflow, communication, and data security across departments.
- Develop IT policies and procedures to support organizational needs.
- Provide guidance on emerging technologies and best practices that support NHT's work in affordable housing, racial equity, sustainability, and innovation.
- Act as the primary liaison between NHT staff and IT vendors to ensure responsive and effective IT support and solutions.
- Lead efforts to integrate IT systems across NHT's various business lines, ensuring streamlined operations and improved data management.
- Ensure IT policies and procedures align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
IT Operations & Infrastructure
- Establish and maintain an IT asset management system to track hardware, software, and licensing.
- Draft and maintain IT policies related to shared drive usage, cybersecurity, and data storage.
- Oversee IT vendor relationships, ensuring high-quality service delivery, system uptime, and security compliance.
- Manage IT onboarding for new employees, including system access, device setup, and training on core platforms.
- Maintain an updated IT contact list and provide clear guidance on IT support processes.
- Develop and implement IT training programs tailored to staff needs, including cybersecurity awareness, software usage, and digital collaboration tools.
- Partner with relevant teams to create user-friendly IT guides for meeting room technology, file storage, and collaboration tools.
- Proficient in Salesforce and integrating the system across business lines.
User Support & Training
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and staff training on IT systems and tools.
- Conduct regular IT surveys to gather staff feedback and identify and address areas of improvement.
- Analyze survey results to prioritize IT training topics and system enhancements.
- Develop and deliver engaging IT training to staff as a subject matter expert.
- Monitor IT support requests to identify recurring issues and recommend process improvements.
- Provide recommendations for software and tools that enhance staff productivity and collaboration.
- Experienced with e-learning platforms and tools to provide hybrid training sessions.
Risk Management & Security
- Ensure compliance with data security protocols and best practices to protect sensitive organizational information.
- Conduct regular security assessments and implement necessary safeguards.
- Maintain IT disaster recovery and business continuity plans to mitigate risks associated with system failures or cyber threats.
- Train and establish clear guidelines for staff on IT security, including password management, phishing prevention, and secure document storage.

- Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA, or CISSP.
- Proficient with non-profit CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and their integration with other platforms.
- Proven ability to provide IT training and support to diverse teams.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to support decision-making and reporting.
- Experience with API integrations and automation tools to streamline workflows.
- Knowledge of agile project management methodologies for IT implementation.
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, cloud storage solutions, and IT help desk systems.
- Understanding of best practices in IT governance, security, and compliance.
- Experience managing IT within a hybrid or remote work environment.
- Familiarity with affordable housing, non-profit operations, or community development organizations.
- Strong emotional intelligence and ability to foster a collaborative, inclusive, and supportive work environment.
- Experience implementing organization-wide IT policies and training programs.
