Infrastructure Engineer - Cleared On-Site
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Linux Design and Implementation Engineer to support our IT infrastructure, which includes servers, workstations, storage, networks, and custom hardware. This role is critical to a national strategic project and requires expertise in Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) 7/9. The engineer will configure and optimize the Linux Operating System (OS), perform hands-on implementation work, and ensure proper documentation and baseline control.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, implement, and support Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) for the project using best practices.
Deploy software templates, dashboards, and scripts to meet program requirements.
Script, test, document, and maintain system configurations for performance and scalability.
Support engineers with OEL-based tools and troubleshooting, leveraging industry standards.
Requirements
Mandatory Qualifications and Skills
Education & Clearance:
STEM Degree: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) (e.g., Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Physics).
Security Clearance: Active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
Technical Experience:
On-Premise Infrastructure Design: Expertise in data center systems architecture and deployment.
Linux Engineering: Hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.0+ for infrastructure development, implementation, and optimization.
System Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex system issues involving multiple servers, Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products, Virtual Machines (VMs), Virtual Desktop Infrastructures (VDIs), and networks.

- Customer Interaction: Experience working directly with end-users and stakeholders.
- Network Design & Implementation: Hands-on experience configuring network infrastructure.
- Storage Solutions: Expertise in Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network-Attached Storage (NAS).
- Windows System Administration: Familiarity with Windows OS development and deployment.
- DevSecOps & Agile Methodologies: Knowledge of Development Security Operations (DevSecOps), Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), and the Atlassian tool suite.
- Scripting Proficiency: Experience with automation and scripting in PowerShell, Python, Ruby, and Bash.
- Cybersecurity Certification: CompTIA Security+ certification preferred.Infrastructure Engineer: while many System Admin tasks are listed, this is an "Infrastructure Engineer" - someone who is well rounded with storage, networking and a variety of operating systems and workstations
