Description:

The Swift Group is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer Lead to join our Infrastructure Team. This person will work with network, systems, and application engineers to manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of a hybrid cloud/on-prem environment. This role will be responsible facilitating the design, implementation and testing of a complex infrastructure in support of our customer needs. This individual will work closely with the client; program and project managers; and engineers to facilitate communication to all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing the implementation of Infrastructure Requirements
  • Managing day to day operations of systems by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair
  • Compiling Operations Reports from across the infrastructures hybrid ecosystem to ensure continuity of operations of a 24/7 mission critical system
  • Working with other teams to facilitate the deployment of new software and to improve existing systems
  • Participating in project-based development, implementation, and documentation of all systems and capabilities pertaining to the infrastructure systems (Security enhancements, Resource Monitoring and Notification, Dev/Ops Automation, etc.)
  • Performing initial troubleshooting of issues and work with other teams, as necessary, to efficiently resolve issues
  • Providing regular updates on project status through established team communication tools
  • Participating in and conducting applicable accreditation support (scans, automation, auditing, etc.)
  • Oversee the design, development, testing, debugging, and deployment of new cloud tooling and infrastructure that extend or replace existing capabilities
  • Work with a team to build, administer, and secure cloud environments, including hybrid environments, in a repeatable and reliable manner
  • Assist with the design of network architectures based on customer requirements and industry best practices
  • Provide recommendations on how best to support ongoing maintenance and enhancements of systems and platforms
  • Development of unique solutions that will meet customer requirements and industry best practices
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Write and update technical documentation such as system documentation, training materials, processes, and procedures
  • Work alongside other engineers on the team to sustain and advance our organization's capabilities
  • Communications with customers: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying of impending changes, or coordinated outages
  • Participates in special projects as required

Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure elements and technologies
  • Effective management skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills

  • Ability to communicate technical information both orally and written
  • Ability to coach, council, and advise based on previous customer organization experience
  • Demonstrated hands on experience working cloud VPCs, subnets, route tables, and gateways
  • Experience in designing, configuring, implementing, and troubleshooting various network technologies and protocols
  • Demonstrated experience achieving customer accreditation of cloud and on-prem solutions for highly sensitive systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
  • US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Desired Qualifications:
  • AWS Certification: Solutions Architect Professional or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud technologies used with ETL and big data pipelines such as Glue, EMR, HIVE, Spark, S3, SQS, and SNS
  • Demonstrated experience with Kubernetes or EKS
  • Demonstrated experience using the AWS CDK
  • Prior experience with SQL querying of a relational database, such as MySQL
  • Prior experience setting up Docker clusters using Swarm and or Kubernetes
  • Prior experience with git for Infrastructure code management
  • Background in Cisco ACI design, planning, implementation, and testing, based on a multi datacenter configurations
  • Experience with Data Center and co-location solutions as they relate to SDN architecture and Design
  • Experience with Network Access Control and Segmentation
  • Experience with security compliance standards
  • Experience with site-to-site VPNs and/or remote access VPNS
  • Network programmability for automating network tasks (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Python, Rest API's)
  • Experience configuring/administrating various network technologies including: Cisco ACI, Cisco DCNM, OTV, VMware NSX
  • Masters Degree
