Pay Range: $50.68 - $85.14 per hour

Are you an experienced infrastructure professional with a passion for leadership and innovation? Join Rush University Medical Center as an Infrastructure Operations Team Lead and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our IT infrastructure.

In this full-time position, you will lead a dedicated team of infrastructure specialists responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of Rush's hybrid cloud and on-premises environments. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage high-impact projects, and serve as a key escalation point for critical issues-all while fostering a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure engineers and administrators, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.
  • Assign tasks, set priorities, and ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
  • Partner with leadership to develop and maintain training plans to enhance team skills and keep up with emerging technologies.
  • Act as an escalation point for critical infrastructure issues.
  • Administer the on-call rotation to ensure 24/7/365 coverage.
  • Oversee the maintenance, and optimization of on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Ensure high availability and reliability of IT systems.
  • Manage system updates, patches, and security compliance.
  • Lead infrastructure-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with automation colleagues to identify and implement automation opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and best practices.
  • Ensure adherence to IT security policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Work with security teams to mitigate vulnerabilities and respond to security incidents.
  • Maintain documentation for current and future policies and procedures.
  • Focus on continual improvement through routine reviews of current processes and procedures.


Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of IT infrastructure experience or High School Diploma and 11 years of ITinfrastructure experience.
  • Strong technical background in server administration (Windows/*NIX), networking, virtualization (VMware), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to lead teams, communicate technical concepts, and collaborate across departments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and incident/change management processes.


Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Experience with MCP, MCSE on Windows 2016, and 2019 is preferred.
  • AWS/Azure/GCP certifications or relevant certifications.
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Security, Privacy, and Regulatory/HPIAA Compliance
  • Healthcare Environment Experience
