JOB SUMMARY & OBJECTIVES
The Infrastructure Service Operations Hardware Asset Management Sr. Analyst will support the day-to-day lifecycle management of IT hardware assets across the organization. This position will play a critical role managing and tracking IT hardware assets, ensuring compliance with organizational standards, and facilitating the efficient deployment of IT resources.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Inventory Management:
Ensures a complete inventory of IT assets owned and managed by stakeholders, is maintained within the asset management repository.
Work with stakeholders to ensure hardware is discoverable or manually added to the asset management repository.
Conduct regular hardware audits to maintain accurate records of all IT assets, including serial numbers, location, status, configuration, and condition in collaboration with stakeholders.
Track hardware purchases, deployments, transfers, and retirements within the organization.
Utilize asset management software to effectively manage and visualize hardware inventory data.
Lifecycle Management:
Engages with the procurement, deployment, and retirement of IT assets according to established lifecycle procedures.
Manage the procurement process for new hardware, including vendor evaluation
Collaborates with procurement and vendor management teams to utilize experience with contract management and negotiations.
Coordinate hardware deployments to end-users, ensuring proper configuration and setup.
Monitor hardware health and performance through regular maintenance checks and updates.
Engages in problem-solving sessions to address process and service improvements and technology enhancements.
Plan and execute hardware refresh cycles to maintain optimal performance and security standards.
Policy Development and Compliance:
Maintain clear and detailed documentation for all asset management processes.
Develop and enforce company hardware asset management policies, including standards for asset tagging, disposal procedures, and security protocols.
Ensure adherence to industry best practices and compliance regulations regarding hardware management.
Communicate hardware policies and procedures to stakeholders across the organization.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions for IT Asset Management processes.
Reporting and Analysis:
Generate regular reports on hardware asset utilization, cost analysis, and potential risks to inform decision-making.
Identify trends and areas for improvement in hardware management practices.
Analyze data to optimize hardware procurement and disposal strategies.
Provides recommendations and insights to management based on data-driven analysis.
EDUCATION
REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED
2-3 years of experience in IT asset management, infrastructure support, or a related field
Proficiency in IT asset management principles, processes, tools, and methodologies
Ability to analyze IT asset performance and make recommendations
Proven experience in procurement, asset lifecycle management, and asset inventory control
Familiarity with the ITIL Framework, IT Governance, and IT Service Management (ITSM)
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
Excellent written, verbal, communication, presentation, and reporting skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Professional certification(s) in IT asset management (e.g., IAITAM, CHAMP) are a plus
Knowledge of Managed Engine Asset Manager or similar tools
Knowledge of SNOW are a plus
Knowledge and experience in Software Asset Management are a plus
Salary Information
NY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $115,000 to $130,000 at the time of posting.
The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. This role is exempt meaning it is not overtime pay eligible.
