Job Description

Riceland Foods is looking for an Ingredient Sales Director. The Ingredient Sales Director is responsible for maintaining and enhancing Riceland's reputation as the industry's leading ingredient supplier to all accounts within the Ingredient and Coproducts segments. This sales leader will work directly with the Sr. Director of Ingredient Sales to maximize channel efficiencies, streamline processes within the division, determine growth opportunities, maintain customer relationships, and enhance revenue on behalf of Riceland's Farmer Members. This role will work closely with all accounts as assigned by management to develop customer specific solutions and provide best in class service to Riceland's growing customer base.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
Work closely with assigned account partners to maintain and build upon current relationships.
Provide creative solutions to enhance trust and drive sales for both Riceland and our valued business partners.
Develop strategies to further segment penetration and drive new business within the category for Riceland.
Work closely with Riceland's management to develop and implement pricing strategy among assigned accounts.
Work to enhance profitability of both the Ingredients and Coproducts segments via new account development and enhanced strategic management of the Division.
SALES PLANNING / FORECASTING
Work with the Riceland SIOP Team to plan and coordinate sales efforts among Riceland's various sales channels.
Establish customer specific sales forecasts / budgets as a part of Riceland's standard annual planning procedures.
Report progress towards goals established via the annual sales plan and make recommendations / adjustments as necessary.
PROFITABILITY ANALYSIS

Perform weekly reviews of Riceland's sales data to ensure accuracy of reporting.

Work with sales and management to investigate and resolve any issues detected.
FREIGHT ANALYSIS
Coordinate with Riceland's logistics department to ensure that all freight rates used for delivered pricing are current and active in Riceland's ERP system.
OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED BY MANAGEMENT
Regular sales meeting participation
Trade show / customer presentations
Any and all other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITIES

In-directly supervises multiple non-supervisory / supervisory positions within the department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree from a four year College or University (Business / Marketing Preferred).

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety or technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS

Regular contacts within the department and with other departments and levels as needed.

EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS

Communication with vendors, customers, and brokers as needed.

USE OF EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS

Must be proficient in the use of a personal computer, various associated software programs and standard office equipment. Strong Microsoft Excel skills preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to utilize both internal and external resources to obtain information and data necessary to carry out routine assignments and special projects. Must have ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with management and staff.
