We are searching for the best talent for an Injection Molding Engineer to be in Jacksonville, FL!

Lead the development, validation, and optimization of Molds and Molds components performance in a highly regulated medical manufacturing environment. This role is critical to ensuring the consistent production of high-quality plastic at scale for manufacturing. Support the launch of new product and current production challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing injection molds quality that meets medical device regulatory standards (FDA, ISO 13485).
  • Lead mold validation activities including IQ, OQ, and PQ to support product launches and engineering changes.
  • Partner with multi-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Mold Tooling, Manufacturing) to ensure designs are optimized for fast-cycle plastic manufacturability.
  • Tackle sophisticated molding issues and implement data-driven corrective actions to minimize downtime and scrap.
  • General knowledge of robust, repeatable injection molding process window based on scientific principles and DOE methodologies.
  • Collaborate with mold makers suppliers to lead tool builds, repairs, and improvements to ensure sustained production.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts related to mold reliability, cycle time reduction, and cost savings initiatives while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support automation and robotics integration into molding operations for increased efficiency and consistency.
  • Maintain mold detailed documentation including setup sheets, validation records, Preventive Maintenance (PM) records, drawings and revisions.
  • Build comprehensive Mold PM procedures and train Mold Tooling technicians.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in injection molds for medical manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of medical-grade thermoplastics and high-cavitation mold designs.
  • Proven experience with IQ/OQ/PQ validations and knowledge of FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485.
  • Proficiency in scientific molding techniques and use of process monitoring tools (e.g., RJG, cavity pressure sensors).
  • Experience with automation systems and cleanroom molding operations.
  • Familiarity with statistical tools such as SPC, DOE, and root cause analysis (Minitab or similar software).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • 10% domestic or international.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with mold making project management, validation, maintenance process, and mold repair.
  • Knowledge and validated experience working with high-cavitation Valve Gated molds, Hot Runners, and tight tolerance mold manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of CAD and mold simulation software (e.g., SolidWorks, Moldflow).
  • Ability to design and develop fixtures and Jigs to support mold maintenance and manufacturing.
  • Understanding of mold drawings and stack up tolerances.
  • High organization interpersonal skills. Working knowledge Microsoft Office product (Teams, Power Point, Excel, Word, OneNote, OneDrive).
  • Lean Six Sigma certification and experience leading process improvement initiatives is a plus.
