What you will be able to do
The Innovation Center Team Leader will lead a team of Application Specialists in developing solutions for our customers by utilizing the IAS technology portfolio of adhesive dispensing, flow drill fastening, self-piercing rivets, and integrated vision. The position will entail developing technical solutions for our customers as a Senior Application Specialist while also supporting the Innovation Center team's growth through organizational procedures and knowledge sharing.

Senior Application Specialist - Solution Development
Mission statement: Understand the customer's process to generate the best sustainable solution for their joining needs
- Offer support and guidance to other application specialists to develop optimum customer solutions
- Develop technical solutions for our customers by utilizing the IAS portfolio
- Planning, execution, and documentation of lab trials
- Process and system optimization in collaboration with sales, project management, and external customers
- Preparation and execution of demonstrations for our customers (robotic or manual)
- Internal knowledge exchange within our Global Innovation Centers network
- Software validation and optimization
- Product and processes development based on test results
- Training of both internal colleagues, and external customers
- Writing of technical papers such as test reports, technical overviews
- Setting up, tearing down, and cleaning mechanical equipment
Innovation Center Team Leader - Team Growth
Mission statement: Support team activities through organizational procedures and knowledge sharing
- In conjunction with the IC Manager:
- assess the validity and benefit of Innovation Center work requests
- assign lab trials based on personnel availability and technical competence
- Share knowledge with other application specialists to increase their IAS technology competence
- Mentor new-hire application specialists
- Ensure and utilize the Innovation Center in a safe and sustainable manner
- Handle day-to-day roadblocks for the Innovation Center team
- Support development of team growth
- Work directly with Innovation Center Manager in planning path forward for the Innovation Center
- Associate / College degree in a technical field or equivalent industry experience
- Experience & Knowledge
- Minimum 5 years of comprehensive technical knowledge of dispensing, joining, and/or vision applications in the automotive or general industry
- Minimum 5 years of experience in leading a team
- Robotic programming experience is necessary
