Job Responsibilities
The person in this position will provide technical assistance and strategic support for local education agencies (LEAs) in implementing the Modernized Career Pathways Framework. Identify emerging career pathways and industry-aligned programs that strengthen workforce readiness. Work closely with South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) partners, Carrer and Technical Education (CTE) directors, instructors/educators, and stakeholders to develop and support programs of study that align with high-demand career sectors. Design and deliver high-impact professional development for instructors/educators, school leaders, and school counselors focused on innovative CTE pathways. Facilitate and promote workshops, training sessions, and networking events that encourage collaboration and best practice sharing. Analyze program data, workforce trends, and industry needs to ensure CTE programs remain relevant, forward-thinking, and responsive. Collaborate with the CTE Program Team to evolve curriculum, course offerings, and student credentialing opportunities. Develop strategies to increase student engagement and equity of access in high-wage, high-skill, and high-demand pathways. Forge strong partnerships with business and industry leaders to enhance work-based learning experiences and employer engagement in career pathway programs. Work with appropriate external partners to align CTE initiatives with state workforce priorities. Promote communication of success stories, innovations, and best practices in CTE through presentations, meetings, reports, and outreach efforts. Serve as a liaison between schools, employers, and the SCDE to support the growth and modernization of career pathways.
This position is located in the Office of Career & Technical Education.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
A Bachelor's degree and experience in education, management or business.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in education, business, public administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in career and technical education, workforce development, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of CTE programs, career clusters, and career pathway development.
  • Experience working with LEAs and higher education institutions on career readiness and workforce alignment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative projects, facilitate training, and engage with stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Strong data analysis, strategic planning, and program evaluation skills.
  • Knowledge of Perkins V and other relevant legislation, work-based learning models, and industry credentialing.
  • Experience in curriculum development, dual credit programs, and/or work-based learning experiences.
  • Strong public speaking and facilitation skills for professional development delivery.
  • Proven ability to introduce and implement innovative solutions in education and workforce development.

Statewide travel is required.
