Job Title: Inpatient Physical Therapist
Job Specialty: Inpatient Physical Therapist
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, no weekends or holidays
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 1+ years in an acute care setting; ideal overall experience over 2 years
License: Must have a current PT licensure
Certifications: CPR certification (AHA BLS healthcare provider)
Must-Have: Familiarity with acute care hospital settings; excellent patient handling and transfer techniques; effective communication skills; ability to work well with healthcare team members; strong time management skills; self-directed and flexible; ability to multitask
Job Description:
- Provide physical therapy services within an inpatient rehab department consisting of physical and occupational therapists.
- Cover various inpatient floors, managing a caseload of 8-15 patients daily, typically seeing 7-9 patients.
- Work with a diverse patient population, including individuals from birth to elderly age with a range of impairments from musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, and post-surgical diagnoses.
- Utilize strong patient handling skills and transfer techniques to ensure safety and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members, including nursing, physicians, and case management.
- Demonstrate exceptional communication and teamwork skills.
- Manage time efficiently, maintaining a productivity goal of 6 hours in an 8-hour day.
- Wear dark gray scrubs as part of the uniform requirement.
