About the Role

As an Inside Sales Supervisor at Zekelman Industries, you will oversee the Inside Sales team and day-to-day activities of the department to ensure team members meet or exceed their individual goals. This position requires strong leadership, sales expertise, and the ability to analyze market trends to drive sales growth. You will play a key role in training employees on new products and services, coaching them on customer interactions, and identifying opportunities for improvement.

You will collaborate with sales representatives, customers, and internal teams to enhance operational efficiencies, improve customer service, and strengthen business relationships. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys mentoring a team, and has a strong background in inside sales, preferably within the steel industry.

What You'll Do

Sales Leadership & Team Management:
  • Leads and promotes healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy.
  • Provides input on sales goals, quotas, and metrics for team members to measure their performance.
  • Meets with team members to discuss goals, progress, and challenges facing the department.
  • Provides feedback to team members about their performance and helps them improve their skills.
  • Reviews reports from each sales representative to identify areas for improvement.

Customer Service & Market Insights:
  • Reviews customer feedback and inquiries to ensure all customer needs are met.
  • Provides customer service and answers questions about products or services.
  • Recommends appropriate courses of action for team members based on the client's needs and budget parameters.
  • Reviews competitive activity and regional pricing levels within the assigned territory.
  • Ensures the team understands data on market trends and regional pricing levels.
  • Travels to customer locations for follow-up, presentations, or demonstrations.

Training & Development:
  • Trains employees on company policies, procedures, and sales techniques.
  • Establishes and enforces rules and regulations to ensure efficient operation of the department.
  • Hires, coaches, develops, monitors, and evaluates the performance of staff.
  • Reviews and recommends personnel actions for approval.
  • Trains sales representatives and new hires on products and closing sales techniques.

Operational & Strategic Responsibilities:
  • Supervises maintenance and reviews complex customer account profiles.
  • Identifies and improves sales opportunities within the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Regular and predictable, full-time, on-site attendance during scheduled hours.

Who You Are
  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of inside sales experience, preferably as a team supervisor in the steel industry.
  • Prior experience in tubing or industrial sales preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Atlas' capabilities and internal requirements to maintain operating efficiencies preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, business systems, and mobile platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data for decision-making.
  • Excellent customer service, supervisory, and sales skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain internal relations with hiring managers, technical, and manufacturing personnel.
  • Decisiveness and problem-solving skills to address customer complaints.

Compensation & Benefits

Below is the expected base salary range for this position. This is a good-faith estimate, and offers will be determined based on experience, education, skill set, and interview performance.

Base Salary Range: $85,000 - $120,000 annually

Additional compensation may include:
  • Performance-based yearly merit increase
  • Profit-sharing bonus opportunities
