POSITION PURPOSE
Join our Travel Oregon team as an Insights & Planning Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of tourism in the beautiful state of Oregon! You'll lead our business intelligence efforts, using cutting-edge analytics to support sustainable tourism and showcase Oregon's natural wonders. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversee the Analytics/Business Intelligence (BI) program's strategic direction.
Build reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
Manage and monitor data flow into the BI platform, troubleshooting issues.
Develop dashboards that convey clear and actionable insights.
Create regular and ad hoc reporting solutions to inform strategies.
Manage BI platforms, ensuring quality assurance and system adoption.
Enhance BI platform based on technological advancements and organizational needs.
Coordinate with vendors and project teams for BI strategy implementation.
Oversee project/task tracking in the portfolio management software.
Develop and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for accurate reporting.
Provide actionable reporting and analysis of KPIs and emerging trends.
Interpret and report data to inform agency and industry strategies.
Recommend KPI options aligned with agency priorities on prosperity, equity, and stewardship.
Present KPIs and insights to internal and external audiences.
Support stakeholders in applying business insights and dashboards.
Collaborate on Insights & Planning information for the Strategic Plan Progress Report.
Implement program reporting strategies linking to strategic goals.
Establish and monitor KPIs and campaign goals linked to strategic priorities.
Report program, project, and campaign outcomes to various audiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in data analytics, business analytics, or related field, OR equivalent combination of education, coursework, training, and work experience.
Four (4) years of professional experience in business intelligence, data management, database administration, and business analytics.
Proficient in MS Office Suite and data analysis software like Tableau, Google Data Studio, Domo, Alteryx, Google Analytics, MS Excel, and PowerPoint.
Experience in using data analysis and research data for business decision-making, including data management and mining.
Skilled in developing and presenting data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in modelling and analyzing different types of data (e.g., geospatial, survey, focus group, social media, real time).
Experience working in a consultative capacity with internal and/or external stakeholders.
Skilled in using BI platforms to derive business insights from various data sources.
Experience managing the work of vendors/contractors.
Experience leading projects and teams to achieve goals, with strong problem-solving, coordination, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of the tourism and/or hospitality industry.
About Our Work Environment: This position is designated as Hybrid Remote. Business needs may require the employee to come into a designated workplace on a periodic basis. Occasional travel, including overnight travel, approximately once per quarter, is required for this position.

As a semi-independent state agency, we feel strongly about cultivating and nurturing strong relationships, both across our workforce and with our many partners and stakeholders throughout the state. To support that aim, our employees must reside in Oregon or Portland Metro.
Compensation & Benefits:
Starting Salary Range:$85,450-$102,550

- Annual accrual of 15 days paid vacation days and 12 paid sick days and award of 3 days personal business leave
