We're thrilled to welcome an Inspector of Record to our team at our team in the Turlock, CA area! This onsite role offers you the opportunity to be a key member of our construction management team, where you'll you will provide highly responsive construction management services in one of the firm's core business lines.

Responsibilities:
  • The inspector shall always stay familiar with project plans and specifications.
  • Review all items in the construction plans to ensure compliance with contract documentation.
  • Maintain daily records of activities, including photos and descriptions of work performed.
  • Relay instructions from project managers, construction administrators, and design professionals to the contractor, and assist with problem-solving by clarifying with design professionals when needed.
  • Monitor design professional submittal logs to ensure timely approvals.
  • Supervise and perform all on-site testing to ensure proper execution, reporting any failures to the project manager.
  • Review and verify contractor estimates of work completed for progress payments based on previously approved cost breakdowns.
  • Oversee and maintain the progress schedule to accurately reflect completed work compared to the contracted timeline.
  • Assist the project manager with testing laboratories to ensure accurate billing for performed tests.
  • Advise construction professionals, including administrators and design professionals, of any requested changes in the work.
  • Prevent unauthorized or unapproved work until drawings are approved by design professionals.
  • Include notes from design professionals in daily logs.
  • Inspect all materials upon delivery to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Review contract documents and guarantees with design professionals to confirm completion for certification.
  • Review and update record drawings daily or as needed.
  • Assist with final inspections.
  • Complete the certification process according to contractual documentation.
  • Finalize the project closeout checklist and provide construction administration support.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of seven years of experience as Inspector of Record
  • Additional experience as superintendent, construction or project manager highly preferred
  • DSA, OSHPD or ICC certification required
  • Prior higher education experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

Compensation: $120-140/hour
