Summary:

This position also provides professional training regarding LMS tools and a variety of instructional software to course developers, staff, and faculty to ensure quality of experience. The Instructional Technology Specialist develops strategies for technology implementation, support path workflow, qualitative assessment of existing education technologies, as well as deployment methodologies.

Work Hours: Minimum of a five day work week in the Eastern time zone; some evenings and weekends as required.

The Instructional Technology Specialist develops strategies for technology implementation, support path workflow, qualitative assessment of existing education technologies, as well as deployment methodologies.
Key Job Functions:
Vendor Technology Integration
- Manage the curriculum support help desk.
- Monitor, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate Nursing, Allied health, and trades integrations.
- Evaluate, monitor, and troubleshoot software application problems within the LMS system as they relate to vendors.
- Interfaces with third-party content providers (vendors) and internal colleagues (e.g., stakeholders, subject matter experts, IT) in planning and scoping requirements for curriculum, performing needs assessments, and implementing courseware. Such as Elsevier Evolve, Cengage MindTap, VitalSource Bookshelf, McGraw Hill Connect, EMCP Cirrus, NHA, Exam Soft, etc.
- Ensures grade integration of vendor learning systems into the Canvas gradebooks
- Evaluates and administers users, courses, and integration technologies within LMS and SharePoint.
- Prepares, formats, and uploads course content as needed including exams/assessment banks.
- Creates content and documentation to assist with implementing educational technologies, tools, and workflows. Creates content using a variety of multimedia, including infographics, video and audio editing, and interactive modules.
Curriculum Support
- Course development and Canvas course (build) development.
- Provides support to faculty and staff and resolves curriculum support issues between vendors and Canvas.
- Works with the curriculum team and LMS Administrator, and those responsible for curriculum design and development to ensure that course design structure is maintained and adjusted as needed in the LMS.
- Collaborates with the curriculum team on help desk tickets.
- Curriculum support/training in the use of current & emerging technologies
- Develop job aids, micro-training, & other JIT resources to support use of technology in the classroom.
- Conducts research and performs data analysis relating to the effectiveness of deployed technologies and support relating to those technologies.
- Maintain the integrity of the curriculum repository and ensure alignment between the SharePoint repository and the LMS.
- Maintains proficiency in technologies required as a condition of the role and completes professional development annually in furtherance of those skills.

Position Requirements:
- Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field.
- Experience working in nursing, trades and healthcare settings preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in instructional design principles, educational technology tools, and learning management systems (Canvas).
- Strong understanding of curriculum development, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced academic environment.
