Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform interconnection studies on offshore wind, energy storage, public policy transmission and other new clean energy technology projects.
- Conduct substation power-flow and short circuit analyses.
- Identify local and system upgrades to maintain reliable electric system operations.
- Organize developer site visits to Con Edison facilities.
- Manage internal engineering support activities; interface with NYISO and merchant developers.
- Identify new generation/transmission project impacts on bulk electric system; recommend modifications to NYISO.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 8 years of work experience in the planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system. or
- Master's Degree in Engineering and 6 years of work experience in the planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering and 8 years of work experience in the planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system.
- Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering 6 years of work experience in the planning, design and/or operation of the bulk electrical transmission system.
- Practical experience in the design and /or operation of the electric power system. Required
- Proficient in using PSS/E, TARA, Aspen or equivalent power system simulation programs. Required
- Driver's License Required
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
